Sadie stayed with my mom this weekend while I was out of town. She has 3 wienies of her own so she had a herd. HE HE. Anyway, Saide adjusted nicely and other than being really rowdy, things went ok. So well that when I brought her home.. she just kind of went in and out of her pin and just enjoyed things and was really mellow. I called mom to find out if she had medicated her or beaten her straight or something. he he he just kidding.. :2funny:. She said no that maybe alot of her rowdiness is the fact she spends so much time in her pen while Im at work during the day. And doesn't get enough exercise time during the day. SOOOOOO Last night I decided to test her a bit. :pray:I left her out of her pen while I went by the UPS and Walmart.. Expecting to come in and find another hole in the carpet.. or another hole in my arm of my chair.... but nothing. She seemed to do very well for about 2 hours last night. Then this morning I decided to take a bigger step.  I let her stay out while I went to work. Covering the furniture.. hoping for no holes.. or shoes trashed laying around. I came home at lunch and she was just perfect. Not one problem that I could find anywhere. I praised her and told her what a good girl she is.. and we danced and jumped and had a good old celebration. Im not by any means convinced that she is at the point where I can leave her out all the time.. Im not that thick... but I am seeing a bit of better behavior from her. :xfinger: And crossing my fingers its a start.

That's because she feels calm when you leave and calm when you come home. Comin home should always be a very calm event.
Good Job, Miss Hooman. Good girl.
Dr. L. :headbang:
That's GREAT!! She is on her way to having full rein!! :thumb: What a good girl!
Isn't it great when you can leave and know that they will behave. It took me forever to trust Tuttle! But he had done great!! I started out with baby steps too. I will be doing the same thing with Carson when I feel that he is settled enough to leave out and won't do anything. SO great that she feels calm. Yeah!!
YAY!!! You're growing up, little girl, just don't do it too quick! Let momma enjoy your puppyhood.
Porky still can't be left out while I'm at work. Even though its only for a few hours a day you wouldn't believe the trouble he gets into! Count yourself lucky that you got a trustworthy doxie. :thumb:
Well she did ok again this morning. I am just home for lunch to check on her and she did wonderfully today too. Another 4.5 hours of perfect wienie time!!!! Im tickled pink. I will need to set up the cam to see what exactly she is doing all morning long. lol.
Good job Sadie - keep it up :thumb:
:apls: :apls: Congratulation Sadie for being such a good girl for your mommie :apls: :apls: That is fantastic!
Well, maybe she doesn't need to be in her pen during your shorter absences. Sounds like she did great!
Thats what I am testing her for. I fell asleep for a couple of hours without putting her in her pen last week and she ate a hole in the arm of my chair. So Im not convinced that she is completely trust worthy yet, but she is doing much better than before this week. Hopefully this is the start of many good days to come. My son will be home for the next 3 weeks during the day while Im at work. Im going to keep her out as much as possible and at least he will be here to keep an eye on her.
