I was shooting stuff for work...but there was Hallie...and there were Christmas decorations...so whut was I supposed to do!
She was exceptionally silly today. She had me flat on the floor laughing several times. She started out all serious and ready to pose.
Then, for the first time since I got her over 6 years ago, she went into a play bow and BARKED at me! LOL!! I could barely take the shots I was laughing so hard. Not even sure just what it was she was telling me, she's not a big barker, but she sure had a story and she thought she was as funny as I did.
She had to show off her matching bow and ornament...
Hurry up - post faster!!!!!!
Karen
Then fun with the big red balls! We were cracking each other up with these. We have the same sense of humor. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE this girl?
ROTFL Karen! How the heck did you know I was still posting more? :2funny:
HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY HER TO BE THAT CUTE???!!!
WHATEVER IT IS - DOUBLE IT!!!!!
KAREN
She is soo gorgeous. I love each and everyone of those pictures. She is just so photogenic.
I love them all ..... my favorite is the one with Hallie peeking out from behind the red ornaments.
And if we look IN the red ornaments we can see Dee Dee too .... correct?
WHAT TH....dogs get PAID for this??? Pffft...no more free posing from me! I'm holding out for CHICKEN!!!
Sadiesmom I tend to show my best side for treats...especially since I've been on a diet to lose 8 ounces (only 4 to go!) I perk up good for those tweats!
Good eye Ruth! LOL yes dang it I experimented every which way but could not come up with a way to avoid the reflections in those shiney balls. I cut them down a lot but then couldn't light Hallie properly. I am laying on the floor with my camera beneath the two strobes, those bright round things are the umbrellas. There has to be a way though I've asked some photography friends for some tips.
That one of her peeking from behindt he balls is one of my favorites too. That was at the beginning I asked her to walk between the balls so they would be close on either side of her like the last shot and she sat there looking at me like "you GOTTA be kidding...you want me to WHUT?" But she did it right after this and had no problem with the balls swinging back and forth and bonking into her (they are very light). :thumb:
A couple more...last ones!
   OH MY GOSH!!! I LOVE HER    !!! Thank you for those pics!!! She's SO gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just LOVE all of these   ....Hallie is the most beautiful girl and soooooo photogenic! She is the "Tyra Banks" of dachshunds   .......she needs all the treats she can eat, plus her own TV show :apls: :apls: :apls:
Oh my gosh dd - these are just stunning !!! Red just sets her off - I love them all - but am drawn to the one of her with her matching bow and the one red ball....... Just precious !!!
All I can say is just adorable!
How can you pick a favorite out of those?! They are all great! I love the play bow picture. That is Porky's favorite thing to do. I agree, Hallie could definately have her own tv show.
My photo friends are saying the solution is to get frosted balls instead of the shiny ones (I really hope no ones mind is in the gutter here LOL MINE ISN'T!! :thumb:). It was also pointed out that these here with Hallie have a smiley face...two eyes, me as the nose (that's fitting LOL) and a smile below that. Heh. And of course because I was told you can't use shiny balls for this...I am going to find a way to, or at least give it a good try. :headbang:
OMG...I CAN see the smiley faces in the balls now that you mentioned it!!! DD, you make a wonderful nose....hahahaha
Gee, the solution is pretty obvious - drape the background, and yourself!
Theatres dress stage hands in black, black gloves, and faces. They disappear in the low light and the stage props seem to magically move themselves!
Karen :dontknow:
LOL Cheryl I've found my calling!
Karen you are a genyus! That would work! Although it would be too much work LOL I'd have to drape the whole half of the room. I think I'll go buy some frosted balls..but you are right that would be the solution!
  Oh MY, Hallie, these pics are just beautifully, gorgeous!!!!!!! I love them all... Ok, it's official!! I am bring Emmy for some pics... lol Belly rubs to you Hallie girl... You do deserve all the treats in the world...
These are gorgeous!!!! The play bow one is priceless! My favorite is the first red ball one. The look on her face is...well...HER! Umm...she does look a little hungry, though.
Girlie you need to get more treats for that lot.........your are totaly scrumptious.
roberta
Miss Hallie,
you are just too pretty for words.... I love them all but especially the barking pic! Dee-Dee I'm going to send you an airline ticket so you can come over and try to get my two monsters to behave for the camera like Hallie. My other option is to buy a pic of Hallie and say..."Oh that's a pic of Delilah, umm on a diet & with a wig" LOL
I wonder if Hallie is really a dog or one of the "Fur-real" electronic dogs that I have seen in the stores (LOL< sorry just teasing)
:thumb:

DeeDee,
What would happen if you put MORE lights ... like a small lighted Christmas tree near the red shinney ornaments ? Maybe they would reflect more of the busy tree lights and we wouldn't see the other things.
That would probably work Ruth. What a great idea! :apls:
Miss Hallie (and mom of course) never stops amazing me! Those are just gorgeous!!!!!!!!
LOL too bad I wasn't into all this photo stuff at the bow wow's we had here, that would have been a blast taking shots of all the bow wow doxies!
Great idea Ruth. I am going to experiment with that and with some draping just so I learn something and understaned more how it works. For future shots I am just going to get frosted balls..I have been looking around at stock images, etc and everyone is using some kind of non super shiny ball so that seems to be the thing to do. But I do want to experiement with lighting and things to see how to cut down glare like this.
I would think if you draped the light area right in front of you and yourself somewhat, that would help. It would also keep the light from bouncing around so much, but then again, it may throw the metering off a little. I love all of them, but I think the bark one is my favorite.
You're right Teresa I think that would help. I wouldn't be able to hide those two ugly umbrellas highlights from the strobes but it would help the background!
Sorry for taking so long for throwing in my two cents, but my favorite is the playbow. I adore that one! I have been a little swamped - math assessments, Christmas program - wish us luck - the big performance is Tuesday the 18th for Moms and Dads...
DeeDee - what about a peephole through a box, with draping, so you can't be seen? Will Hallie still pose for treats if you are not immediately visible?
Oh yes, it would be a very busy time at school! Not having childs of the hooman variety I forget that. Good luck with the performance I remember how exciting that was when I was a kid.
Yes that's a good idea Julia I think something like that would have been the solution!! I may try that one day..for this it would be way too much work and bother LOL I think I'll just buy frosted balls but indeed Hallie would pose for treats even if I were on the rooftop (wooftop!) :thumb:

For future shots I am just going to get frosted balls.
Frosted balls??!! FROSTED BALLS?!?!?!?!?
Did Ansel Adams say, " Heck, it's too cold in Yosemite - I guess I'll photograph the Florida Keys." :pic:
Did Pablo Picasso say, "Cubes aren't my thing. What about circles?" :paint:
Did Michaelangelo say, "Oy, vey, I have such a headcold. Just spray the ceiling off white and be done with it!" :sad4:
