OOO! I am so jealous!!   Have some of that snow blow back to the west.   We desperately need all the snow we can get it in Western Nebraska.  Our west wind we've had for the past two days must have blown all the snow your way and skipped over us.   :dontknow:   I just love the snow so I'm really missing it this year.   But, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday look promising. Hopefully we'll get more than 1/2 an inch this time!!

That snowstorm is coming our way.  I hope it's enough for Lara to go out and play.  Only bad thing is it's coming in overnight, so the morning commute will be reeeealllly fun.

Anchorage and Wasilla have no snow whatsoever.   :dontknow:  've had every other extreme........rain, temps down to zero, and now they are forecasting warmer temps and freezing rain and sleet.  Strange.....

If anyone wants some snow I will be more than happy to send them the 8+ inches we got hit with in our first snow storm of the year. Then we had freezing mist on top of it so it was a real pain to get rid of it.  Especially when hubby is a "twork"   :idiot: and didn't bother to get the snow blower ready.  There was a pocket in the cover on it and we had a big chunk of ice that froze between the snow blower and the rod that turns the chute.  Couldn't get the cover off.  Sister in law got it off later but now seems to have a gas leak so it is at the repair shop.  Ice chunk finally was thawed this morning ...I brought the cover in the house since I couldn't get the ice off and put it in the shower....it took 2 1/2 days to thaw.  Of course hubby was out of town.  He will be in this weekend and we are supposed to get more snow for most of the weekend.  If it is not fixed he will get to do it without the blower.
Poor Zack froze up in the dog run this morning so hopefully he will go faster the next time.

They were calling for a dusting to 1 inch today in Maryland, and we've now got 4 or 5 inches outside.   Needless to say, the Zs are NOT amused.

At least I got to try out my new Subaru Outback in the snow.  It's great!

We have a little over two inches on the ground here in Manassas.  The snow advisory ends in 2 1/2 hours, so I don't think we will get much more.  Skeeter barely steps out the door and does her business when it snows.  Fella wants nothing doing with the snow.  Boone is happily munching poopcicles out in the yard.  Kevin is out and about in his Suburu Forester.  He loves driving his car in this kind of weather!

The first snow of the year is the best! We had our first just before the big storms so it didn't last long. Enjoy the white stuff.

Yesterday we got 2 inches but what was really nice was that when I left for work it was exactly 32 degrees, so the streets were not too bad just slushy some and the snow flakes....oh my goodness....it was the nice big flakes that are "fluffy" and fall to the ground so pretty in your headlights.... ...but the bad thing is....most of the snow melted but what didn't melt is now ice because IT IS IN THE TEENS HERE THIS MORNING.....bbrrrrrrrr :doah:

We've had our Forester about 7 years.  It's been very reliable, and the all wheel drive does better in bad weather than many 4 wheel drives.  since it's not so big, the gas mileage isn't as awful as an SUV.  At 6'2" and (mumblel mumble) lbs. the Forester is sometimes a bit small for Kevin.  Maybe when it's time for a new one we will look at a Legacy Outback.  One nice thing about the Forester is that we have a pet barrier and a wipe clean bed liner for the cargo area.  Very helpful when drving around with three dog!

I've had my Outback for less than a month.   My Pathfinder got totalled in an accident Halloween night.  I got rear-ended by a 17 year old girl, who, in turn, pile drove me into the back of a municipal bus.   I got banged around, but was otherwise okay (air bags may save lives, but they sure let you know that they do!!!).  Rather than go back to a gas guzzling SUV, I decided to go with the Subaru.  I had to spend a couple thousand out-of-pocket between the insurance settlement (which they ripped me off on) and the Subaru, but I'll get that money back, and then some with lower gasoline costs and lower insurance premiums.

It's roomy, it drives great, and it goes through just about anything.   If you go with the Outback, spend the extra money to get the 2.5i rather than the base model.   You get a whole lot of really nice extras like heated seats, the sport shift, bigger wheels and tires.

I drive a Ford Escape, and have found it to be a great winter driving car.  Its a smaller SUV, and very maneuvable in tight spots.  It can handle anything......snow, ice, mud, etc.  I love it.
