They called and said there was a problem with the EKG that I had yesterday for pre-op - so they want me to see a cardiologist before re-scheduleing. They called at 2:00 this afternoon - I am so mad they waited so late !!! If it had been yesterday, there would have been a chance to try and get in to see one. My dr. only does surgeries on Wed - so it would be next week at the earliest if I could even get cleared and the dr. had room on the schedule. As it stands right now, I will see the cardiologist in the next couple days and then re-schedule the surgery for next year.

Good grief! As if you didn't have enough to worry about with the surgery itself. I'm sure it will be nothing but I HATE when they scare you then make you wait! On the other hand, I like to think at times like this there is a reason for it... but it still sucks! So sorry it had to be postponed. Hang in there.
Gee Barb....what next? Praying your visit with the Cardiologist goes well and it was just a glitch in their machine (which does happen and I am sure that is probably the problem). Hopefully you can have surgery soon...Good luck :xfinger:
Barb, I just saw both your posts on this. So sorry they're making you wait. That is especially frustrating when you're trying to get ready emotionally for this surgery. Rays and prayers that everything turns out ok and the surgery will go fine.

I have a cardiologist appt on the 20th. I didn't push doing it sooner - because putting it off, even a week, would put me right at Christmastime and end of year recovering. I am going to wait until after the new year. Hopefully I can get some weight off and get on the treadmill and get my heart in better shape !

Rays to you Barb... Hope everything turns out ok for you.... I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago (endometriosis), I couldn't feel better.... It was a quuick, easy surgery and recovery for me, but, I had it done without any big incisions on my stomach... I was up and around in no time (just couldn't lift).... I recovered quicker from that, than I did my knee surgery... I will be thinking of you and praying... :comfort: :pray:
I'm sorry you have to go through the holidays with this hanging over your head. There may be a reason for the delay though...I like to think so at times like this anyway! Hope you are feeling OK and hanging in there until they can get this done!
Sorry to hear this as there is nothong worse than getting geared up an then.......................It is better they found it now than on the table so enjoy Christmas and Chill all will be fine. Just think how may nursies we can send to help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you
