Title: Dream Sacks
Post by: Jenny G on December 04, 2007, 08:29:47 AM
Hi all! I'm super late with my Christmas shopping and am looking desparately for decent priced dream sacks for Lucy and Berman.  I'm hoping to spend around $20 per sack. The ones I've found so far are over $35.  Anyone have any good leads?  Thanks!

Hie yerself to Walmart and buy their dirt cheap fleece. (like, 5 bux a yard. Sew an oversize pillow case.  Viola! Dream sac!

Ya really don't even need to sew it.  snip the edges into 3" strips and tie the thing together on three sides.  Fleece doesn't unravel.
I made one for Zuzu when she was a pup and made a little pillow insert.  Every morning when she wakes up she ooooozes out of her sack and has a big stretch.  It's starting to look ratty now, so maybe Santa will bring her a new one...

The first time I was here in Korea, I bought a faux mink blanket.  Well, let me tell you, when Sgt. and Libby sees that blanket, treats or not, they will drop what they are doing and run under this blanket.  Can't keep them away from it.  Since it is a king size blanket, it takes up lots of space.  So now on my second trip over here, I have been looking for baby blanket sized faux mink blankets.  What I have found is a pillow case style.  It has a zipper on the end and I was thinking that I don't have to put a pillow in it.  Sgt. can just jump into it and be snug as a bug in this pillow case.  Good thing is that they are only $5!!!  I am going to buy one for him and bring it home with me when I go on mid-tour and see if he likes it.  Will take some photos of it in action and see what ya'll think.  Might be able to hook ya'll up with one if you're interested.

Will let you know end of Feb how it turned out.
