Title: It's been a looooong time, hiya everyone!!
Post by: Gail on November 24, 2007, 11:54:28 AM

Hey everyone, it has been such a long time since we said hello.

Holly and Tris are both doing really well though sadly their naughtiness has been severely hampered.   Those of you who remember us might recall a tale or two of my renegade doglets and their stealing ways?  They used to run circles round their granny and most notably ate their way through a 3 pound box of chocolates (and promptly vomited on the way to see the vet).  We have had a pretty tough time over the past year - the beasties are now from a broken home  :bandaid:!  We weren't alone for too long though as Granny got ill and moved in with us - they ate their way through the little shopping bag on her walking aid and did absolutely nothing to help her up or bring her the phone when she took a tumble, sigh the training goes on..... Well sadly their Granny passed away and we have been adjusting to a very different life.  I feel rotten as anything leaving them at home when I go to work but there is noone to look after them during the day now that Granny has gone.  We have been working on how to use a cat-flap (Holly insists we call it that just in case she can entice one into the house lol).  I was so proud when Tris took to it very quickly, learning to head-butt his way in and out while Holly just waits for me to open it for her.  Strangely though when there was a hedgehog in the garden that they were menacing and I brought them indoors, she went crashing right out through the catflap without the slightest bit of bother......hmmmm, I think she might be taking advantage of me - you all know that feeling!

Mr Tris is getting grey and Holly looks as young as ever and both are keeping good and healthy, Tris hasn't had an epileptic fit in months.

I think that is about all for now.  I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone's news and meeting new friends.

Love
Gail, Holly and Tristan

Thanks Barb, it's nice to be amongst friends.  We are doing well though, a new era in our lives.

Tris is still a real snuggle bunny...but Holly and I cope with the attention lol.

Sorry to hear of your bad year. They guys will be OK, don't let the eyes take you on a guilt trip, at least they have each other. With the flap we have ours tied open as Amy or Emma like it as it aways hit them when they nearly got in, and they have a little fly screen made of Voile curtain.
Keep you chin up. Funny it alwasy seems to be the boys that are the snuggle bunnies.

ps Oliver hear did you say chocalates.......................

Hey Gail!

Wow!  Lovely to hear from you.  So sorry you've had a rather bad year but it does sound like you are making the most of it.

If you hadn't heard, sadly we lost our Dolly last March.  Maddie is doing good, although at ten, she seems to think that she has special Little Old Lady privileges and can be downrgiht pathetic at times.  For example, she decided she HATES kibble and only likes canned venison.  Does Mommy give in to this tantrum?  You betcha.  Well, little does she know, we are going to try the kibble one more time.  Papa Mark will stop by the vet's to pick up her Bambi formula and guess what?  It comes in kibble too.  We'll see how it goes...heh heh heh.  Oh, and another thing the little stinker is eating up is, since there is only one of her, she gets to just about go EVERYWHERE we go-except for work.  Even if Mark is just dropping me off for my weeking bible study class down the street, SHE gets to go.  Of course the method to our madness is this....she'd spite pee if we didn't let her come.....and it's kinda fun.  Once I'm out of the car, the Madderoo is right in his lap.  He's quite adept to driving with a weiner in his lap...

Anyway, welcome back.  Hope to hear more Trissy and Holly stories.

Sandi

I love the snuggle picture!!  That is sooo cute!!     Your two sound like my Porky Pie.  Boy can he get into some trouble.     I don't believe I've ever met you before so, its great to meet you.   I have a piebald miniature dachshund named Porky Pie he is two and a half.  He is a closet kitty-lover and always into some kind of trouble.   He lives with me and my husband and our two kittens. (LaVerne and Shirley)

Hi Gail, its good to hear from you.  So sorry to hear about your rough year and the loss of your grandma.  The doxies look great and, unlike us, they always seem to go with the flow quite well.  We lost our Misty girl, the one we rescued through DRNA, earlier this year to a sort of brain aneurysm.  She was 6 years old, and we had her since she was 5 months old.  She was the sweetest thing and we miss her very much.  Willy and Alex are almost 10 and doing great.
I hope you will post here often.  Take care.
