Dan and I will be roasting a couple of game hens. We will do all the trimmings, too -- mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, acorn squash, corn, cranberry sauce, sweet pickles and rolls. Dessert will be pumpkin pie with whipped cream for Dan, and I will enjoy a piece of blueberry pie.
Do you guys have any special traditional dishes that you serve?
Here's our menu: Roasted Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, Yams, Pretzel Salad, Homemade Rolls, Pumpkin Pie and Apple Pie with Whipped Cream along with olives and cranberries.
My candied yams and the pretzel salad are the traditionals for our house.....Dave and Tyler request the yams and Cassie always requests the pretzel salad and the entire family wants my homemade rolls. Dee
Since it's just Eddie and I I'm making a small turkey breast with stuffing. Oh I bought some avocado and cranberry salsa from Whole Foods, have already tried it and it is fabulous. Then I will start addressing Holiday cards and watch old movies.

Ok, Dee ..... what is the Pretzel Salad ?
I'm not exactly sure how it came about to be a salad.....but it is a dish that has a bottom crust of crushed pretzels; the center is a mixture of sugar, cream cheese, and cool whip and the top is strawberry jello and frozen strawberries. You can substitute the fruit -- I've made it with blackberries, raspberries and peaches. It is so goooood! A small piece will do you! I posted the recipie on the recipie site. Have a good Thanksgiving! Dee

We better like it, because it's a lot of food and we will be eating it all weekend long!
It is just Gary and I and we went down to the Casino (The Grand Victoria in Rising Sun, Indiana) Buffet for dinner. They had peel and eat shrimp (already peeled) leg of lamb (I just can't seem to get myself to eat that), prime rib, roast pork, turkey, taters, yams, corn, greenbeans, etc....for dessert I had mixed berries and real whipped cream. Gary had pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake....Then we visited a niece on his side and my sister's house, where we had another dessert....phew! I am stuffed :hello2:
