Today was my HuSissie's birthday. She and my HuMom spent the day at our beautiful park that is in the middle of downtown taking pictures. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me go, since they said I probably wouldn't stay still long enough for them to take the pictures (they are right, I would want to chase everything, including the other dogs there).
Teresa here- We had a great day, with the temperatures a little too warm for mid-November. It was in the low to mid-seventies. It is unusual this year since the leaves are just a few days past their peak and it is already the middle of November. Normally they would just about be gone now. As you can see, though, a lot of them are starting to fall. The falls also show how little rain we have had since the rocks are normally covered by the water cascading over them. This is probably the least amount of water I've ever seen. Our city has spent a ton of money on this centerpiece downtown and it is worth every penny spent. It has revitalized a part of downtown that had completely died. We now have a new baseball stadium close by that is a replica of Fenway Park for our minor league team, so this part of town stays busy now.
Enjoy our a small taste of our part of the country. It is truly my favorite time of year here in Greenville, S.C.
Here is another one, a bit larger....

In the picture with Meghan, she is standing in front of some tree roots. I always forget to find out what kind of tree it is. In Meghan's pictures that she took, you can actually see the carvings that many people have done in them.
Wow, what a beautiful place!
Happy Birthday Meghan! Looks like you guys had a fun day.
Hooo boy those are gorgeous! Not only beautiful scenery but great job on the shots Teresa! Happy Birthday to Meghan!! Thanks for sharing these. Wish we were having your weather about now.
Thank you Dee Dee. I'll have to set up a Picasa Webpage like Patty does and put some of Meg's shots on it. She did a great job and kept saying, "Wow, I wasn't even trying to do that!" It was a really fun day and something we have wanted to do since she came home in May. The weather was just too hot this summer and this was the first time we took the opportunity to plan a day to do it. Luckily the weather cooperated!
As for the weather, I'm ready for it to feel like Thanksgiving. It is finally going to be back in the low 60's again and even the upper 50's for a couple of days. We'll even see 32 for the second or third time this year over the weekend. I'm ready for sweaters, not short-sleeved shirts!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU MEGHAN :headbang: You have a beautiful park and it looks like a very nice place to live. The Fall colors there are so beautiful. The pictures make me wish I was there too. What a great day!
Happy Birthday to Meghan! You live in a beautiful part of the country - great shots. As for the temps, I know what you mean. It's been above normal here too.
Happy Birthday Meghan! Great Pictures...it looks just gorgeous! :occasion15: :occasion16: :occasion18:
Very kewl pictures !!! I hope you gave hu-sissy lots of birthday smoochies !!!!
Of course lots of kisses were given, especially if there was a chance of cake being shared! Today we have windy weather and temps that started in the low 60's this morning and went down all day. It is now 47. Tomorrow will be 54 and the rest of the weekend will be the same. That is what I like, however, for this time of the year. Maybe I'll get started on some Christmas shopping since it may feel like the time of year I'm supposed to be doing it.
