Title: TREAT BOX 4C HAS ARRIVED IN ALASKA!!!
Post by: PattyInAK on November 08, 2007, 08:07:13 AM
Yesterday Dan brought home a box and wooooo-hoooooo, it was Treat Box 4C, having gone full circle.  I didn't have the camera handy but will post pictures of Willy and Alex with their stash this weekend.  The boys were so funny as I opened the box and took stuff out.  The knew it was all for them and they got a little territorial with each other.  They will stand there and stare at each other, kinda like "who's going to blink first" and I had to break that up before hackles went up.  But what a haul they made........lots and lots of good looking treats and toys, and a couple of patriotic bandanas, and a picture frame that says "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."  Will have to put a picture of Willy and Alex in the picture frame wearing their new bandanas.
Thank you so much Brenda and Mocha!!!   :hello2:

Wow! Sounds like quite a treat box! I agree with the rest - pictures! That's my favorite part of this board. I love seeing the pups and the people that are owned by them.

Sounds like a great haul! I'm laughing at the vision of the boys doing the freeze stare at each other. Goodie overload! Can't wait to see the pics!

(yeah dogs aren't our "whole" life...there are those 10 minutes a day I'm in the shower and Hallie and I aren't actually touching. LOL)

You wouldn't believe my two boys, DD.  Willy has always been sort of a bully, and Alex is very mild-mannered, but when Willy tries to push Alex around, Alex will stand his ground, and he will NOT blink first or look away from Willy.  Its sort of funny but I don't allow it to escalate.

LOL. They are so much like little kids sometimes. The similarities to humans is scary!

As one of our federal member of  parliment says "please explain"

1. how to explain to non dog  people what this Box is all about
2. How do the fur kids know  that the box is for them..................both times they have known

We are waiting for the pickies...........

I wondered the same thing Roberta. They DO know! I get a lot of boxes here for work stuff and Hallie ignores them all but the treat box. Must be the good doggie smells. Last night I was COOKING (ack! I'm exhausted today LOL) for Hallie. I got a recipe I never followed through with in the throes of the recall scare. So thought I may as well make it and use it for healthy treats between meals. I figured since I was torturing myself already in the kitchen, I'd cook up some dinner for me at the same time (well heating frozen stuff in the oven rather than the microwave is my version of cooking). Hallie was sitting behind me patiently (hey...I just realized she didn't run out of the house shaking this time! Must not have been enough smoke!). I was talking to her the whole time as I always do and when I scooped out her new food into a storage bowl (I had also just done that with what I was cooking so it wasn't the only thing) and I said this one is for you, little bear...she immediately sat up at attention, ears up and gave me a little front footie dance and some whines. How the heck they pick up on this stuff is beyond me.

Dogs pick up on this stuff my dear ladies because a dog's sense of smell is appoximately 27,000 times that of human smell!!  We can smell when a box has treeties in it!  We didn't just fall ou of the evolutionary tree, after all!!

I got a couple pictures of Willy and Alex with their stash this past weekend, they weren't cooperating very well.  Now I just have to figure out how to download them.
