Ozzy had a great day with the sitter. After an hour, she let her cat out of the bedroom, and Ozzy and the cat became great friends. The cat is older and pretty mellow, so she put up with Ozzy very well. Their dog, however, was kept away, because he weighs 50 pounds and she was afraid he would unintentionally hurt Ozzy.
The only problem was that we should have shown Ozzy the door he was supposed to go to when he needed to go out, so there was a little accident. After that, the sitter decided to take Ozzy out every 90 minutes, just to be safe.
Of course, he went nuts when we came back to pick him up.
We had a great day! We had lunch at the temporary sorority house (their current house is currently undergoing much needed improvements). We were supposed to go tailgating at some parking lot a billion miles from the dome, but when we got to daughter's apartment, we realized we were only a five-minute walk to the dome. Weather was in the mid 50's but there was a wind, so we weighed the options - drinking out in the weather a billion miles from the dome vs drinking in the apartment (which overlooked the public tailgating lot, where we could hear the marching band) and watching the final minutes of the Iowa vs Michigan State football game. No brainer!!! We switched from our sweatshirts T-shirts because the dome gets pretty hot, especially when the game is sold out. The game was great, with UNI winning, so hopefully UNI retains its #1 ranking in UNI's division football polls. And the Iowa win was heartening to their fans, I'm sure.
If you are ever in downtown Cedar Falls, Iowa, you must eat at Bourbon Street. It was pricey (over $100 for the 4 of us, but we did order liquor and had an appetizer), but worth every cent!
Overall a great, much needed, day of fun, and it was nice, knowing that Ozzy was being cared for very well.
Sounds like a fun time was had by all !!!! Glad the kitty didn't hurt Ozzy !!!! But nice to know that you now have a friend that can keep him if need be. I am sure she understood the accident - it would be hard for any of our kids going to a new place to know exactly where to go when the need arises. Bet he was excited to see mom and dad !!!!

Hey Ozzy, dis is Porky Pie. I told ya dose cat fings can be fun. I'm gwad you made a new fur fwiend! Sounds wike you were a berry good boy while your mom and da were gone. Dats always da hardest part for me. Cause you know, dat trubble just happens wif me. Anyway...if you eber get to go see dat kitty again, gib him a big slurpy kiss for me.
Oh yeah...and don't tell da odder guys dat I'm a C-A-T lover. Dey might get mad.
