Some of you asked for Longfellow photos a few days ago. You especially wanted to see how big a 30 lb dachsie is.
Here is Longfellow and 16 lb Boone at a pool party. Both of them jumped right in the pool and I had to save them. Fella swam the length of the pool and only started sinking when he reached the wall. Boone sank like a stone, and then he jumped in to sink a second time. Longfellow looks like maybe swimming wasn't such a good idea after all.

Next is Fella with his rescuer, Yolanda. I am not sure if that's a puppy or a mini in her lap. Either way, Fella dwarfs it.

He is absolutely gorgeous!!!! 30 lbs is not unusual at all at the dog shows. My Jessie was slim at 24 lbs, it took me a long time to not think Hallie was teeny after having Jessie. They seem to be getting bigger all the time though which isn't good. Love the shot of them wet and great one of Fella and the baby really shows the size difference!
What a DOLL FACE!!! I just wanna snuggle that fella and zerbert his tummy!

Interesting question. Boone likes everyone, and loves meeting new friends. Longfellow is unpredictable. He tries to start trouble in obedience class, but at dachshund meet ups, he is a perfect gentleman. So Zoe, I think you have a chance with either one.
I keep looking at these photos and all I can say is some kids are just born beautiful................

Wow! What a handsome boy! He is by far the biggest dachsie I have ever seen...and one of the most gorgeous!
Longfellow is a very handsome boy!!! One of our pups from our litter that Zack came from was about 30-32 lbs but (we called him Zeus) he was really a big boy even at 8 weeks. He had a ton of loose skin. Sharon told me if he ever grew into it he would be something and he was.
