Every workday we have to get the crew into their respective crates before we dash off to the train. Usually I take care of Boonie and Skeeter (who is always very good) and Jeri handles Fella. This morning I decided to try my hand getting Fella in using the command "Kennel". Per obedience school training I paired the command with presentation of a treat. It started off well with him heading for the crate when "SNAP" there went the treat out of my hand and there went Fella like a bat down the hall! :doah: Great, I'm going to have to chase the big lummox while time is running out for us to catch our train. Then WOOSH, here he comes back into the bedroom where he does another victory lap before jumping on the the bed and dancing around. Then I realize, he's taunting me! :nana: :buns: His victory was short lived when Jeri got him and tossed his furry butt into the kennel. We were almost late for the train because we were laughing so hard at his performance. You won this round Fella, but wait till tomorrow.
Maybe ol Fella has a little more cranial matter than you guys have given him credit for, and he's just playing dumb just so he can get what he wants.
Oh yeah! I know that trick well. Porky tries that one every once in awhile and dashes under the couch where he can't be reached. Wait till I pull my trick, plywood nailed under the flap of fabric all around the couch. Hiding place gone. I think it'll only take once running to hide under there and "SMACK"! Kinda mean, but I think it would work.
I think he is a bit smart to. Would have appriciated a phot or video of the event. Who says red heads are dumb..............
Ingrid used to head for under the bed with just enough crawl space for her.
Me thinks that Mr Fella is fooling you... :2funny: He is using his smarts to his advantage !!!! Cute story !
The funny thing is that he was so in-your-face about it! He ran into the living room, danced around in circles, then turned his backside toward Kev and waggled it at him. I began laughing hysterically at that point and told Kev, "he's taunting you!" Then Fella ran into the bedroom, jumped on the bed and did a second victory dance there. That's when I grabbed him and stuffed him into the crate, which sits on the floor two feet from the site of his second victory dance. By continuing the taunt, he made getting him into the crate very easy for me. A real genius, huh? I told Fella, "ooooh, you outsmarted your dad. Big Deal!"
This morning Kevin wised up a bit. He used the best bait, the super smelly blueberry treats that Fella will do anything to get. Fella even prefers these to Pupperonis, which were his extra special treat until blueberry treats came along. He followed Kevin's lead right onto the crate, no trouble.
:2funny:...hahaha....Zoe runs right into her crate but Winston hides under da big bed....we have to coax him out with treats too.
Ooooh BOOBEWWIES! Maddewoo wuvs boobewwies!
:heart:Maddewoo.
Ps....I also wuv avascados :apls:

Hi all,
Has anyone seen the new Nutro Natural Choice Crunchy Treats with Real Berries/Apples/Carrots???
My friend came across them on her last visit to the supply store and brought me a few trial bags. I know that Nutro was heavily involved with the Menu food recalls. These treats are wheat, corn, and soy free. I opened the "Real Berries" bag... it smealls like blueberry pancakes? Yum, lol. I'm a bit worried about giving them to Bane though, he is a 4-legged garbage disposal, so I'm sure he'd gobble them up, lol. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen them or used them
Right, they're the Nutro treats that papbouv wrote about. We got them at Petsmart.
In case you haven't seen this. Menu is no longer making these canned foods.
This was the Itchmo site when it happened.
Menu Foods also announced that it will be selling a production facility in South Dakota to Mars, Inc, one of their major customers. Mars no longer wants Menu to produce its Royal Canin and Nutro brands of pet food. The sale of the facility will go for $26.3 million.
Nutro and Royal Canin are now stand alone companys who are owned by Mars.
I wondered if these were what you were talking about. I have gotten all 3 kinds and my dogs love them. The apple smells like apple too. :thumb: I can't say the carrot smell like carrot but maybe to the dogs it does. :2funny:
