Title: Fall has Fallen
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on October 17, 2007, 12:53:11 AM
I'm probably going to post too many pictures again but we had a rare moment of sunshine today and I finally got my shots of Hallie in our leaves. Now I have no more excuses to not rake the yard!

On the last one, although she could easily bound them, she is not allowed to do stairs so she is waiting patiently for her "lift" up the steps, but she is allowed to put just her front paws on the bottom step. Her tail wags like crazy while she is waiting.

I have to share this story from today...we were taking our 30 min walk at the park and it was really windy (which we both love). We were walking around the big duck pond, and the wind was blowing so hard it was blowing these huge maple leaves around. Hallie was standing there sniffing something in the grass when a huge gust came and a couple of leaves pelted her, then this one big gold one slapped across her face and stuck there! It was wet so it plastered itself completely over her face.

In her attempt to get it off, she was swinging her head from side to side in a big figure 8 pattern. Every time she swung down and to the side, her opposite front paw would leave the ground so it looked like she was doing this little dance. You couldn't see her face at all. I was useless to help her since all I could focus on was trying not to pee my pants. And me without my camera!

Love the photos, its my favourite time of the year, not many of our trees are desidious here, only what are "imports". My darling Ms H you are as stunning as always, but I think LOVE has a lot to do with it, on both sides of the lens.
Live long and be cuddled by many both of you

All dachshunds seem to perk up during the autumn.  Maybe it's the cool, crisp air.  Maybe it's the scents of various critters getting ready to hunker down for the winter.   Every fall, though, my dachshunds all seemed more energetic and more attuned to their surroundings.   Even Max in his later years would show a pep in his step when the leaves started to turn and fall.

Oh I  love the pictures!!  Autumn is my favorite season!!!    :apls:  I love how the trees look when all their leaves turn.  Porky seems to love all the extra smells in the air in the fall.  He walks with his head held higher and has more spring in his step.

Look at all those leaves!!!  Great pictures!  All our leaves have been blown off the trees.  We have snow on the mountains and in the forecast for the low lands.
