There is a house being built on the lot right next to ours right now. They're a little more than halfway done with the construction because they're doing the drywall and ceilings inside. Anyway, today is the SECOND TIME that the construction workers have come knocking on my door asking if they can fill up two big buckets of water. I asked them where they usually get their water, and they said at other construction sites in the neighborhood, but that those sites are closed. What?!? :verdict: I asked them if they can talk to the field manager, but they said that they can't get a hold of him (not surprised about that). So, being the nice person that I am, I let them get some water. Then I called the field manager.....and got his voicemail, so I left a message that I was unhappy about this....I mean, we're paying for this water....it will be on our bill. He better call me back, or I'm having DH call and give him an earful. Not that the field manager will be able to do much about it, but at least I expressed my unhappiness.
Would anyone else be angry about this, or am I overreacting? Thanks for letting me vent.
Is water really expensive where you live, or is there a severe shortage or rationing of it? Are you on a well that is getting kinda iffy? If any of that is the case, then protect the water you have.
In most areas, water is very cheap and plentiful. The amount they took can't possibly total more than a few pennies, if that. I would let them have it. There are more important things to worry about. At least they were polite and asked.
