I took Lucy to school with me one day to meet my first graders. They were so sweet and gentle with her. She just roamed around the room and the students would pet her gently. They continued to work hard although she was in the room with us. Eventually she curled up in a bean bag and took a nap.
We did an interactive writing lesson about her adventures in the classroom that day. The students drawings are brillant

That is adorable! I'm glad they had so much fun. What a great idea.
Great idea! Everyone has fun and children write!
That is SO kewl !!! The kids did great with the pictures ! I thought you said that you were going to incorporate Lucy into your classroom and what a perfect way for her to visit !!!
What a brilliant idea :headbang: Looks like everyone had a great time!!
I took pictures of Lucy with my students but I was afraid of putting their faces on the web. I don't have permission from their parents and wouldn't want to get in trouble.
I have incorporated Lucy into the classroom by having my discipline chart in the shape of a dachshund and the big incentive for the whole class. There is a big Lucy on the wall and everytime our classroom gets a compliment, Lucy gets a bone in her bowl. For every 10 bones Lucy gets to come spend the day with us.
The kids love it and never forget to tell me that Lucy needs a bone!!
That's great. It looks like they all got the length of the dachshund down pat!
What a wonderful idea. The kids will never forget this. Even though my daughter is now out of college, she still will talk about the teachers she had that did things like you are doing. It makes school exciting and the kids learn without realizing it. I'm sure Lucy enjoys it, too!!
Too cute!
That is so great, I'm sure the kids are extra well behaved in hopes of getting another visit from Lucy.
