How many people would pronounce Hallie's name as:
1. Haylee (rhymes with Baylee)
or
2. Halee (rhymes with "Sally")
or
3. Holly
I've noticed people call her different things and I'm curious those of you who have only seen it in written form, how you pronounce it.
#2 as I remember the Halleluiah Talullah at the beginning of her stay with with you.
At first I pronounced it as Haylee.........as in Hayley Mills. Then I learned that the correct way was No. 2.
I have the same situation with Neeki. People like to say Nicky, but its NEE-kee, a nickname derived from her real name: Domenica (Doe-may-NEE-ka).
I pronounce it #2 :grin:

Dr. Noam Chomsky Leaky here - from a syntactic perspective, it should be pronounced #2 or #3 because the double L shortens the sound of the A.
But then again, is it BernstINE or BernstEEN? Should always be stINE with a long I.

#2 here as in Hallie Berry Butt. And what a cute butt she has (Hallie M, that is).

#2. My grandmother's name was Hallie, so I heard this pronunciation early on.
Most of you have it right. It is Hallie as in rhymes with Sally. Even after I tell people her name they will sometimes call her Haylee.
That is really neat your Grandmother was Hallie too Rich. My brother in laws Mother's name is Hallie and she was the first Hallie I knew and I always loved the name. When I was reading my list of name ideas off to my Dad, when I got to "Hallie", he said "Hallelujah"...so that is where that came from. I think it was Julia H that dubbed her Tallulah.
And the Hallie Berry Butt came from when I first got Hallie and we had a family get together and my niece, who adores Hallie (her Grandma is the other Hallie and we call them Big Hallie and Little Hallie) was there. The first time I told her Hallie's name, Rachel asked how we would know which Hallie we were talking about so I said we could call my Hallie, Hallie Berry Butt. And the nick name stuck. I now often call her Hallie Bear Butt (or maybe it's Hallie Bare Butt :)).
