Title: Patches & a new friend
Post by: papbouv on October 01, 2007, 10:28:57 PM
Well woke up a little late but still cool outside so gathered everything up to take the dogs out on the scooter had Buddy & scooter though the gate tie him to the scooter while I shut the gate and lock up the back door go though the house get Patches and lock the front door.Trying to get out the door Patches is tugging on the leash I turn around next to the house by the open porch is a black Aussie Shepard open the door tell Patches to get in the house. So both run in the house at least it has a collar & tag on I stick Patches in the bathroom. I get the dog who is having fun running around the house I get the phone number from the tag stick the dog in Buddy's crate.Call the number a man answers says he is at work but he will come right away to get his dog, I go out & stay with Buddy he drives up in about 10 minutes I go in & get the dog she sees her owner pops the door open runs out to see him. He tells her to get in the truck he had left the door open she runs & gets in the truck. He tells me he has not figured out how she is getting out she had been home for two weeks. She had gotten out before was found in Claremore Ok from Tulsa which is a very long ways away that time she had been gone 3 weeks he said he did not think he would ever see her again. He was very, very happy  I called him, they left.
Then finely starting our walk got about three blocks away a lady driving down the street stops me asks if I had seen a black & white Pit Bull dog running loose.I told her no she told me where she lived was in the neighborhood  she drives off. Then we made it about another two blocks she drives up behind me & tells me she found her dog THE PIT BULLit was in the car with her. That was sorta spooky to me glad we did not run into the Pit Bull running loose Buddy does not know when to keep his mouth shut around other dogs but we are working on that.
We finely got our walk in got back home safe & sound

I was wondering the same thing.  :2funny:

Sounds like you all had a pretty exciting morning.  My goodness.  I am glad you didn't run into the pit bull though. Believe me Porky and I have had our share of pit bull encounters lately.     We had a HUGE one come running up to us the other day.  Luckilly, he was friendly, I don't know what I would have done had he wanted to kill me.    :dontknow:

Good gosh. I would be in the ICU by now (with Hallie duct taped to my torso!). That is why I never walk her in the neighborhood anymore, there are always dang loose dogs running loose (although we also had a very scary encounter with a black lab at the high school, one of our daily walking places, you aren't safe anywhere). I can't imagine having a strange dog IN my house, I hope they guy figures out a way to keep his dog home.

I'm glad too you didn't run into the pit bull. One thing about having a little dog, you can at least lift them up out of harms way. When I had my sweet boy Fred Great Dane (who weighed 50 lbs more than I do) it would be so scary when dogs ran up to him because I couldn't very well perch him on my shoulders and run off.    It was even harder once I got my standard longhair, Jessie, to try and keep them both safe. Luckily neither were aggressive but we still had some scary incidences.

LOL your pit bull and the lady story took on a life of it's own! I'm guessing you meant that when the lady first went by, the pit bull was not in the car with her but running loose somewhere. She found it and put it in her car and then when she went by again it was in her car, not the first time around? So it was never in the car while she was looking for it....?

I was hoping that was the case Dee Dee. Either that or the lady was having a serious blonde moment.  :2funny:  No offense to the blondes on the board, I myself am one.   :doah:
