Title: Prayers for my Mom
Post by: cheryl186 on October 01, 2007, 05:31:28 PM
If you all could say a few prayers for my mom.  She is having some tests this week due to bowel trouble.  Two years ago she had terrible bleeding from the bowels due to Diverticulitis.  Ever since then, she has been having problems here and there but the doctors haven't seemed to think much of it.  Constipation, bloating, etc., is a symptom of that.  However, she has been extremely nauseous the past couple weeks.  The nausea began a couple months ago and has only gotten worse.  She has lost weight due to not eating very much.  She is elderly and the doctors said that in severe cases, sometimes the bowel can become constricted or blocked, etc.  Mom thinks she has something worse....my sister and I are hoping for the best....a diverticulitis flareup with no surgery and controlling the problem with mediations.   :xfinger:  She has a C.A.T. scan scheduled tomorrow and an endoscopy scheduled for Friday.  She had an endoscopy last year and a colonoscopy in 2005 and did not find any cancer.  I know that is my mom's fear.  Please say a prayer to help her though this.   Cheryl

The prayers are working.....so far mom's blood work, the CAT Scan and the Endoscopy have all turned out normal.  Now we are going to have a Colonoscopy set up for this coming week.  Doctor wants to make sure there is no tumor lurking in there....hopefully it is just the effects from her diverticulosis and can be controlled with mediation......Thank you everyone for all the prayers and well wishes.  I will keep you all updated on the results of the colonoscopy.....Cheryl :xfinger:

Mom had her colonoscopy today and I have some very good news!!!  It came out good :thumb:  She does have the diverticulosis and there is a part of the colon that is constricted or a little narrow which is probably causing the problems she is having.  But it does not require surgery!!!  Diet and new mediations will do the trick :hello2: :hello2:  So thank you all who have prayed for her.....your prayers have worked....thank you so much!!!  This is the best outcome we could have had and hoped for!!!!
