Title: question re matting
Post by: Roberta on September 28, 2007, 05:44:17 PM
Carpets that is................
The physio  left it up to us to when we remove the matting on the ceramic tiles. I don't mind the anti skid stuff but the multiple carpet runners to make up the gaps are driving me  :verdict: :verdict: :verdict: :verdict: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:.
The Kitchen is a long galley kitchen about 16 ft long and 6 ft wide at the present I have it totally covered in antiskid. the front hall has her playpen with matting and the hall way between is covered with carpet mats . I'm thinking of cutting the kitchen in half length wise and covering the hall way so that the main "RUN" zones are covered as she usually walks to the kitchen etc. I'm terrified make the move in case something happens.
Mind you in appearances she is A OK except for the hair and her back right leg is to anyone else OK, but it is a tad weaker than the other, thye say time and gradual walking will get it back and if not she is great.
so any imput would be great.

Oh man I feel for you Roberta. I pretty much trust Hallie 99.9999% to never jump off the bed (I never leave her up there alone...but many times someone has knocked on the door while we are still in bed...I know! I am a late sleeper lol but don't get to bed til the wee hours) but after her scare last summer, we slept with a 48" X Pen around the bed like a crib for weeks even though she was fine long before. It IS scary to remove some of the safety nets.

I can't quite picture all you have there (what is anti skid exactly?) but I do think that as time goes on and you see her doing fine your fears will fade.

I am SOOOO glad she is doing so well! Yeay!  :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

The anti skid is sort of a rubbery thin stuff that stops rugs etc moving on smooth surfaces. It comes about 2 metres wide and you buy it buy the metre. She has started to sleep with Oliver again next to my side of the bed at the end of the bed we put a fence so we have no "GET da POSSUM" events in the middle of the night. She is now not allowed on anything them one exception the sofa when I sit in front of it to watch TV. We are trying to get Oliver to do the same but being a mountain goat he gets up and over anything.

We have hardwood floors everywhere except for the bedrooms.  I have runners  all over !!!   Rudy loves to chase toys and I don't want him runny on the slippery floor.... so I just call it my patchwork house !!!   Sorry yours are driving you nuts - actually mine do too - they have to be straightened all the time - but I just feel better that the kids have a non-slippery floor to walk on.   Maybe give Amy a little more time to get stronger?
