Title: Meet Timone, our new friend
Post by: Bratpak and Lauri on September 06, 2007, 05:07:02 AM
Timone is about 1 and a half years old.  He was found stray and lost in the veld as a little baby!  What a cute guy!!!

Excuse me, but has anyone noticed Timone's resemblance to a, ahem,

ferret?

I mean, really, folks, not every mammal with a dachshund physique is a true dachshund!  Isn't that right, Merlin? :2funny:

Dr. Charles Darwin Leaky

"Hey, hey HEY!  You got a problem with Timone, you answer to me!!  We Bernese Mountain miniature Yorkshire Schnauzers got to stick together!" :thumb:

("Or is it Miniature Bernese Mountain?  Does that make me a Berneses Molehill?") :dontknow:

("Whatever floats your boat, Merlin, whatever floats your boat!")

Wow!  What a cutie!!   My brother had a strange encounter with one of these meerkats when we visited the local zoo.   :2funny:  i still crack up just thinking about it.

My brother is 6'5" tall and very skinny. As we neared the exhibit, all the meerkats stood up out of their burrows.  Once my brother was in front of the window,  one meerkat began to adjust his stance so he was standing in the same position a my brother.  We jokingly said, "oh how funny, he's copying you."  Then my brother began moving his arms around and standing up taller.  You could literally see the meerkat moving his arms and trying to stand up taller to mimic my brother.  It was the funniest thing ever!  my little neice said, "Hey...they think uncle Ty is one of them!!"   We all got a chuckle out of it.  Even the zookeeper seemed to find it humorous.

Anyone watch Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet?

Yeah, it's not the norm to have them as pets - they are very close families and are real cuddlers, but this little guy was found abandoned in the field as a baby.  They are excellent pets, very loving, snuggling and highly intelligent.  And they dig up your garden BIG TIME!!!
