I am happy to say that I am back and expecting my doxie puppy October 14th or so. His name is William Shakespear aka Willie Boy Bam Bam aka Willie. lol. I now have medically protected status with a physician's rx for a furbaby all my own. He is a sweet little black and tan shorthair, and will most likely be a standard. For those who haven't heard from me in awhile, I have learned alot the last couple of years about babies, puppies, apartment living wth furbabies, and most of all, my rights to have one. If I knew then what I knew now, (when I had to shut the home rescue down)...well that's past and hopefully I am welcomed back to the board.
I still have my two cats, tonka and aleu. We were able to adopt a shihtzu for my older daughter Lynn. His name is Ming and he turned a year old in May. Willie will also be getting some training to alert me to a couple of things as well as being my custom bed warmer! Ming will have a buddy, and I can't believe I am saying this, but I am out buying goodies, toys, etc. like crazy so he will have everything he needs.
I am so excited! I do have some pictures and am staring a photo album of his beginnings...I feel so silly about it sometimes, but I now know what I need to do to keep us together, etc.
I will of course need some advice about introducing to the pets we already have, etc. I have started closing my bedroom door to keep cats and Ming out. My room will be set aside for Willie to have his refuge. Mariah turned 3 and is really good with the furkids we have now. Of course I don't leave them unattended with her-I just don't want to take any chances of anyone getting hurt.
I have gone back to college and have even scheduled my classes so that I can come home between them to play with and potty train him. (thankfully I only live 4 miles from the sc hool) Lots happened over the summer. For those of you who kept up with me via email, thank you for your support during all the craziness! I hope to rekindle some friendships and share the special joy that the doxies give!
Always,
Robyn
Well, as a devoted reader of Shakespeare, I have to say I love the future pup's name! I am sad to say I didn't keep up with you much via email, but welcome back!
Welcome back Robyn. Sounds like your life is on a good path. :apls:
