We went out on the scooter the other morning Buddy, I & Patches had been over to the Fairgrounds down & around coming home crossing a busy street at one of the cross streets. Made it half way across and Patches jumps off the scooter I stop in the middle of the street and jerk her little butt back on the scooter and we hurry across the street. I always wait to make sure no cars are coming or they are along ways off before crossing the streets.Patches got an ear full all the way home, told her I would leave her at home in the crate if she could not stay on the scooter.I always tell her stay before we start across the street as a reminder guess we need to work some more on Stay.
This evening was cooler than usual so took Buddy for a short walk left Miss Jump off the scooter Patches at home with her Daddy,I'm sure she heard me get the scooter out & open the gate. DH told me when I came back Patches was a bad girl she had gotten into the Kleenex and barked & howled I was surprised DH even noticed her getting into the Kleenex football was on the TV. I also got a dirty Doxie look I reminded her last time she jumped off the scooter do not know if she understood what I said or not.In the morning it is suppose to be cool so will take her out on the scooter with Buddy if she jumps off again she will be staying at home in the crate.

Is Patches tethered with a leash??? Please say yes so I don't have a heart attack thinking about what could happen.
I wonder if Patches can howl and cry as pitifully as Alex can when he is left. When he was recovering from his broken leg years ago, he could not go on walks with Willy and me, and he was heartbroken. We soothed him with a good bone when we left, but after the bone was gone, the woe-is-me tune started up again, even with Dan home to keep him company.
Yes both always on a leash live in a city Tulsa we have a Leash Law. Learned a lesson with my last Bouvier Jake after our walks at the park when I was walking I got into the habit of dropping the leash when we got home told Jake porch & he would go get on the porch. One morning I did that I did not see the jogger coming down the street but Jake did Jake circled around got between me & the jogger who stopped in the street. I said Jake come he turned and looked at me but did not come I said Jake come with authority in my voice he came did a perfect sit in front of me. The Jogger said sure glad that dog is trained off he went down the street I sure got a scare so no more dropping of leashes ever. Jake was 28 3/4" at the shoulder weighed 110# was never shown in obedience he had Megaesohagus could not sit with out his front legs shaking. He also saved my bacon at a Swap Meet type place we had been walking around looking at everything went back to the car.I gave Jake some water put him in the car opened the driverside doorJake let out a huge bark there was a man standing right behind me & I do mean right behind me he yelled shut up dog I got in my car locked the door. The man just stood there never left the area did not get into another car I think he was going to mug me & Jake stopped him.Sorry I get carried away sometimes talking about my Jakie he was a true miracle dog living with the Megaesopahgus so long the vets were amazed he lived to be 9 1/2 years old cancer got him in the end.

I hope Patches learned from being left at home! Understand about hubby's and football. I think I've lost mine for the next several months-football and then basketball! At least Meg is around this year, but she has started liking football, too! I'll watch it some, but enough it enough!
I got chills when I read about Jake and the "mugger". I would bet money that was exactly what he was going to do. Why else would he tell the dog to shut up? I would say Jake saved your life that day!
