How are you doing sweet grrrrllll....
 Iz just poo'd and Ma has rang Nannie and DAd. Don't know what da fuss is about its just a Girlie............I'm feeling better.
WeE AmY
Mum here, I'm over the moon Amy had been going wee wee's by herself since we got her home and no poo and I can tell you she has been eating.
Yesterday we went for her first physio. Michelle was lovely. I was paranoid of how to take her there, they suggested her crate, of which I took the top of to get her in, as I find it hard to get her positioned. I drove slowly all the way there, God knows and I don't care what the other drivers thought, as I have a fairly new Mazda 3 that does go Zoom Zoom Zoom crawling along the road.
They put her through her paces, getting her to stand which she does quite well.
Her Exercises are
1 standing we've to massage down each side of the spine into the back leg muscles. (Supporting her standing)
2 tickle between her back toes or pinch if she is not pulling back. This is to make her pull the muscles up. (Supporting her standing)
3 cycle the back legs one at a time (Supporting her standing)so that it touches the ground on the way through, if two people are present do both legs at the one time.
4 While Supporting her, lift one of her front legs up so she has to use the back legs to support herself then switch legs allowing about 10 secs of weigh bearing
5 While supporting her get her to sit and to make sure she sits properly on her botty for about 10 times.
She is allowed to walk around on carpet if she wants but we have to watch for her tiring. This includes wee wee stops outside and we have to start a collar and leash along with te strap as she is now walking be it drunkenly quite fast.
They said she was really good and the surgeon called into see her and said she had made amazing progress, and that we had acted fast. Michelle went through the exercises and then I went through them to make sure I was doing them right. Then she put her in the main carpeted reception area to see how she could walk and she tottered over to the exit doors sat down and looked at me.
We went through and had hydrotherapy. They go into the tank with them and fill it to half way up her body and then turned the treadmill on very slowly, and you could watch it under water and she was walking normally( well as normal for someone who hates water), and Michelle said she is really quite good she is just weak. So we are doing another one on Sunday.
All in all, they think she will only need to see them next week for an update on the exercises to make thema bit harder, and if we want a check up we can come back any time.
I only wish I had a video of her in the tank. The look on her face when the water started to come in looked like"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM get me outa here its WET and this strange lady is making me WALK". But they water was warm and they supplied warm towels for after, she even managed to shake on her feet. She spent the rest of the day asleep. The total time there was 1 1/2 hours.
We are still sleeping her in her bed with cage, and we are now getting into a routine, last night she dcided she wanted a drink and wee's at 330am, Nick had not really seen her on her feet for so long and walking fast be it with very little support of her band. So I think the leash is going ot have to come out. She has really learnt to talk, but in the past few days its only when she wants something.
Mum has included a pickie of my new haircut,

Roberta
Amy here you should see her, the crazy woman follows me about, tells me to wait if I try and run. I get tired after a short time and go back to bed so what's the problem with her, to-morrow may be dad and he is even MORE Paranoid than mum...........should be fun............................
YEAH a great report just what I was hoping to hear!! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:
Poor paranoid Mum...I think many of us can relate, I don' think Delia will still pick Gretchie up...like 2 years later LOL and the first car ride I took Hallie on, I too was going about 5 mph and taking corners verrrry slow and verrrry wide, keeping a 10 car distance between me and the next guy...totally understandable why you are being extra careful and worried. But she will be OK! That photo of her just breaks my heart I want to scoop her up and make it all better for her. But she just has to endure a bit of ultra spoiling and that pretty black hair is going to grow back in fine and she'll be just like she was before.
I was surprised they can do phys therapy with her already? Here we are told to crate for 2-6 weeks strictly, depending on the case. It is great she can get out and get some movement going at this point already! Give her a big hug for us and you guys hang in there too.
Glad to hear Amy is doing so well just takes allot of time give her an extra pet from me. Patches & Buddy say way to go getting your humans excited about pooping.

Wow, Amy, Way to go Girl!!!! Pooping on your own is a WONDERFUL thing!! Roberta, it really sounds like Amy is doing really well. I am amazed that they are doing physical therapy on her already. Everything sounds great and it appears she will have a full recovery. We are so excited and happy for you and wee Amy...keep up the good work :apls: :hello2: :headbang:

Rudy here - I know dus what you means.....when I was down in my back, when my mudder would let me walk, she would HOVER over me, saying over and over.... Slow Rudy, Slow Rudy, Slow Rudy........dang woman - I KNOW !!!!! She eben said it in her sleep - HAHAHHHAHA!
Mind your ma, and she will let you do a little more each day !
Yay!!! She couldn't be doing better!!! I just knew she'd pop right back! Yeah, the really hard part is when they don't see the need to be confined and start getting bored. I'm surprised she's allowed to walk. I guess it's the difference between America and Australia. Reading your post brought back so many memories. I remember the first time she took off on a trot when I took her out back to potty. I yelled at her, out of panick but it scared her. After that, she was always on a leash when let out of her expen. Thank you for taking the time to update us. What an adorable little girl she is, Roberta. She has a beautiful face.
:thumb: Glad to hear your healing up Amy!!! Glad you poo'd.... Keep up the great progress sweet girl.... Hugs and Rays from EmmyLou and I  :comfort:
Glad she is doing better!

AWW Poor Amy!!! Well Miss Amy, even with that large bald spot, you still look gorgeous to us!!! Keep on recovering quick! :comfort: Give your momma lots of hugs and love from Porky Pie and me.
