Seems a little slow on the board this Friday afternoon..........Just taking a break from measuring ingredients for my entries. The fair starts next Thursday. I entered my Canning today -- Cranberry Sauce, Rhubarb Chutney and Cranberry Conserve. Will enter Baking next Wednesday. Still finalizing exactly what will be entered. Dan and I will be going to the fair together this year, Dan hasn't been able to go for about 3 years. I plan to take my camera and document our entire day.
I'm planning on going next Saturday! I didn't go last year, but I'm looking forward to checking it out this year!
I usually take days off during the week so I can go when the crowds aren't so bad. We enjoy buying a t-shirt every year and checking out the food vendors.
May all your entries be blue-ribbon winners, Patty. ENJOY!
Great that you and Dan can go together !!! Can't wait to see which ribbons you win !!!
Have you and Joey and Toby's mom met yet?
:thumb:Good Luck on your entries Patty! The other day I was in a baking mood and made a rhubarb upside down cake! It turned out to be super de dooper gooooooooooooooooooood! If you'd like the recipe I'd be happy to e-mail it to you!
Barb, I have not met Toby and Joey's mom yet. I do hope we can meet up sometime in the future, maybe when things slow dow a bit this fall, and the fair is over with and especially when all our Domingo's Garden Subdivision stuff is over with. I look forward to breathing a BIG sigh of relief when that is all done!!! The wheels at the Borough move very slowly unfortunately.
Kelly, I would love to have the recipe for the rhubarb cake. I have lots of rhubard in the freezer, my sister had tons of it and I got lucky. Thank you!
What fun GOOD LUCK let us know! I am glad Dan can go with you this year. I'd love to see it. I always think of you at the Puyallup Fair, it starts next month but we already had to enter our art. I take Hallie with me and we do the fair together she rides in one of her strollers. Our local fair is going on right now, we did the obedience demos the first part of the week and I took her yesterday just to "do the fair" and got pictures of her with the goats, I love goats.
If I tried to cook something to enter like you do, all I'd have to show for it would be a photo of the firemen in my kitchen!
DD, guess what? Today I am wearing the Puyallup Fair t-shirt you gave me!!! :hello2:
Its the one from 2000, their 100 year anniversary. What a quality shirt, it hasn't faded much at all.
Ahhh that is so cool! Makes me feel good to picture you wearing the shirt I sent. :) I wish I could go to the fair there, I love the big fairs and can't wait for Puyallup to start too. Be sure to let us know how your entries do!
I am thinking of having the bow-wow when our state fair is on.
Oooh that sweetens the pot even more!
Dan keeps telling me to remind you that the guest room has always been yours should we host a bow-wow. There is so much for you to photograph up here for your paintings. Our resident loons at our cabin had one baby this summer. Sometimes they have two. I enjoy watching the parents feed him, and its so cute the way the baby will get up on the parents' back to tour around the lake. The loons were very agitated a couple weeks ago, and lo and behold, there was a bald eagle soaring around.
