We are in the Flathead Valley and the fires are all around us. We have lots of smoke and ash and Dead BUGS floating on us !
We are staying in the house with the AC on.
Please send cool rays and Rain.
THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD!!
Just how close is close? How fast is it moving? Do we need to send a rescue copter? YIKES!!
Call me if you need me, Miz ELIe, I come 'n' git ya! YEE HAA!!

The closest fire is about 30 miles away .... west of Whitefish, MT. The smoke, ash, and dead bugs are IN my yard.
The valley that we live in is surrounded on three sides by mountains and the fourth side by Flathead Lake. There are fires in the mountains on all three sides.
Evacuation orders are in place for two areas, both are about 30-40 miles from us. ( out here you can actually see for 30- 40 miles .... if not 100 miles in some directions!) We are not in danger from the actual fire, but the smoke is awful.

Saying prayers that this stays well away from you! Stay SAFE!
Oh Ruth and Ellie - it looks just awful. Please stay safe and keep us posted. Sending rays and prayers they can get those fires put out.

So far, they think all of them were started by lightning .
A picture of the smoke clouds ... from my front door ....
Sending rays and hope it rains there please be careful since fire can jump over things sometimes you must have the drought conditions we had last year. The smoke smells awful sometimes could smell it in the back yard here last year.Good luck & stay save.

OMG Ruth! That is very scary. Are you sure you shouldn't load up the kids and book out of there?
For something so terrifying and tragic...the photos are amazing. A terrible beauty! Please be safe and don't take any chances, breathing that stuff can't be good for any of you. I would never have thought of the dead bugs!
A picture at Seeley Lake, Montana. Southeast of us, in the Swan Valley. (maybe75 miles away from us ) We can't see the fire from here but we are getting the smoke. The Swan valley has just one road that runs all the way through it. They are evacuating from there.
Stay safe!
Ruth and Ellie, We've been keeping you in our thoughts! The fires just seem to be surrounding our areas! Dee
Have been thinking about you ALOT and praying for your safety.....Be careful!!!!!!
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. We are safe enough where we are. But it looks as if we are in a big FOG , which is actually smoke. Your eyes burn and your throat hurts.
Oh dear, just saw your post and pictures. Yikes! Please post an update.
We have had a little cooler weather with just an itty bit of rain. It seems to have cleared up the skies but the fires are still going strong. eLlIe and I are safe.
I'm glad you are safe at the moment. I would keep bags packed and ready, just in case. This is so frightening, and its been going on for so long.
