Cute! I love when they are at that age and their head is about as big as their body!

Thanks Teresa!  We're all settled in the house now and are just doing the regular "house maintaining" stuff.  We've been focused a lot on landscaping and planting trees, since we're in a new development and there are no mature trees around the neighborhood.  I've also been taking some time to learn how to do FLASH to help my hubby with his computer consulting.  We went on vacation a couple of weeks ago to Ocean Isle Beach.  It was wonderful!  My mom and stepdad rented a condo, so it was the two of them, us, and my brother and two sisters and their families; the first time in many many years that we've all been together on a vacation.  We had a blast.  Lara enjoyed the ocean, though she was afraid of it at first.  By the end of the week she was running into the surf up past her knees!  Now that it's "back to reality" we've been working on potty training with Lara.

Chilie is doing well.  She loves her new backyard and makes sure that the other dogs in the neighborhood knows who she is....the princess!  We had a house-sitter (a reliable friend) while we were on vacation, so she was able to stay here at home, which made me feel loads better, although I missed her a lot!  My dad's side of the family had a family reunion that we attended this past weekend, and Chilie got to meet her other two canine cousins....a mini poodle named Lexi and a rat terrier named Flo.  They got along great.  No fights and a lot of butt sniffing!  Chilie, of course, was a hit with all the hooman kids too.

So that's what's been going on here.  I'm trying to be more frequent on the board again.  I miss everyone here!

Glad everything is going so well. I really was just thinking about you the other day. I have a co-worker whose son will be going to Iraq in October, which made me think of Kelly. Her son is 23. He is a medic in the Army and will be over there for a year at least. They started out telling them 18 months, but right now have told them it looks like it will be 12 months. He will be getting married right before he leaves. His mom isn't completely thrilled about this, since his dad was military and she knows how hard it is to be a newlywed and have a husband leave for a long period of time, but she also understands the reasons behind them wanting to get married before he goes over there.
Please post new pictures of Lara soon. I'm sure she has really grown. They always seem to grow so much during the summer!
