Title: The Light At The End of the Tunnel. . .
Post by: Doxherding Karen on August 02, 2007, 07:59:03 PM
Miriam and Noah packed up a bunch of stuff yesterday afternoon (my neighbors informed me) and they haven't been seen since.

I feel like Dr. Martin Luther King when he quoted the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last!  Free at last!  Thank G-d Almighty!  I'M FREE AT LAST!!!"

Today was one of the nicest days i have spent in a VERY LONG TIME!  Thanks to all for the encouragement, rays and hugs!

There's been way more drama, but I've told the more obnoxious children to stop contacting me.  So far the silence is just LOVELY!!

Count your blessing, my dear.  Count each quiet day.  Yeah, they're mad now.  Hopefully they'll get over it.  Your deserve PEACE.  GOOD FOR YOU for sticking to your guns.  You ROCK!

There's no way all this can be easy for you. I'm glad to hear that you got some peace today. You've got a lot of support on this board, I hope it helps, ultimately it is you on the front lines.  Keep us posted.

Our kids can be such pains in the butt sometimes!

Hopefully they will respond well (eventually) to your tough love - it seems to me that children who want to be adults should be required to actually behave as adults.  One of our kids has been diagnosed with boarderline personality disorder. Once that was figured out, and we began dealing with her differently (mainly refusing to be manipulated, discontinue being her bed & breakfast, or be impressed by her drama queen ways) life got much better for everyone. Not that it was easy (or quick), but it was definately worth the struggle.

You and your kids will remain in my thoughts and prayers!

Take care of yourself!
Janet

I'm so glad they have given you some peace. There is a good possibility they are trying to come up with some legal loophole to catch you in, but then again, they may have realized they aren't going to win this one. Make sure you have everything taken care of, someone you trust that knows exactly what is going on and can watch out for the house while you are gone, and then enjoy your time away in Chattanooga. Didn't you say you would be visiting your son while you are there? Is the place he is staying in actually in Chattanooga?

Yes, Daniel is a patient at Parkridge Valley Medical Center.  He is diagnosed as bipolar, severe, mixed, with psychotic features.

Now that doesn't mean he's an axe murderer.  And since he has been on his lithium and seroquel for the last 14 weeks, his psychosis has abated.  He has about nine or ten months of hard work to do to get well enough to come home.  But right now, home is where he wants to go when he is discharged.

Meanwhile I am waiting for the next shoe to drop.  I told Miriam four weeks ago that I was leaving town for 10 days and during that time she would not be able to access her belongings in the garage.  She is supposed to have all her stuff out of the garage by August 31st.  Anybody want to bet that she decides that she simply HAS to have access to the garage while I am gone?

Any takers?

Stay tuned and thanks for all the support, hugs and rays!

Pictures of the garage, the brown boxes with the red tape are my things, the books on the floor are mine, knocked over by Noah. Grrr!!
