I'm sure you have all heard that our Alaska Senator is being investigated......and it could be connected to that "VECO thing." I work for VECO. I've been here for 29 years. It was bad enough when the owner and a top exec got arrested, now all these formerly respected politicians are involved. I've spent years defending VECO to the VECO-haters. I haven't been here for 29 years because I was mistreated. Now this, and boy do the VECO-haters have a lot of material now!
CH2M Hill is going to purchase VECO. Several of their people have visited our offices and they are all pretty cool, understanding that us worker bees had nothing to do with what happened..........the bribery, extortion, tax evasion and greed. In fact, a lot of CH2M Hill folks in the lower 48 have requested transfers to Alaska. Our jobs at VECO are not threatened, VECO does stuff that CH2M Hill doesn't do, so this adds a new arm to their company. I feel the future is bright for the VECO employees. I am proud of the people I work with, our drafting department is top notch. We all feel betrayed but you know what? No one talks about it, we just shake our heads and do our work. Those who were corrupt just gave a whole new meaning to the company motto "VECO - The Team That Delivers."

VECO is an oilfield support company, we do a lot of work for the big oil companies.
My job is managing and working on the drafting contract we have with a local electric company.
