I just got a copy of a wonderful book titled Picasso and Lump.
It is a photo-story of how Pablo Picasso fell in love with a dachshund puppy named Lump, who promptly adopted the famous painter. They both died in 1973. Anybody know if Lump outlived Picaso or vice versa? The last page says, "Forever" and lists Picasso 1881-1973 and Lump 1956-1973. It is a very touching tribute to their relationship.
The author was a photographer, and the book's pictures were taken in the late 50's.
I got it on www.alibris.com

I have heard of this book. I'm not sure who outlived who, will have to surf on that one.
Found out that Lump died one week before Picasso.
I saw this book last year and bought it. It has some great pictures...

Found out that Lump died one week before Picasso.
Where did you find that? Lump went back to David Douglas Duncan in 1963 when he came down with back problems and had to go to Stuttgart for treatments. I googled all over the place trying to find out when Lump died, but only found out he died in April 1973.
This book is truly enchanting. To see a man like Pablo Picaso, enslaved by Lump is priceless. The photo on the front of the book shows a humanity to Picasso that is almost never seen.
