Hi again. It's The Pelfrey's from Rome, Ga... and we would like to announce an addition to our doxie family. His name is Lowrider, ( I think we will call him "Rider") he has come to us from a neighbor that is moving soon and wanted to see our family have him. He loves to play with his new siblings, both human and doxie. Right now, we are busy getting him introduced to Weenie and Graci, as well as Sarah-Kate, Marlee, Conner, and Kelsey. So far so good. Welcome Rider to our family.
So handsome!! Welcome!! :hello2:
:apls: Rider is so adorable!!! Congratulations on your new Edition to your Family.... :headbang:
Well, thank you... and thanks from Rider.....We got off to a rough start.. I am aware that Rider may have had a rough go at his previous owners home, or before that even, but he was fine, but after bath and time for bed, be became a little snappy(very tender around he chest area)..... He has some trust issures, but not with children, with adults. So we are taking it slow and easy, yesterday was much better, and today he has done well.. He is wonderful with the kids and the other doxies, though Weenie Girl was real quick to let him know who rules this house. And he seems ok with that. He does love attention, and eats up all the lovin he can get. So we are good. Reguardless, this little guy stays.
Bless you for hanging in there. Both of mine are rescues - and you never really know the full story about them. You just have to have patience and love and it sounds like you have a boatload of both !!! Keep us posted !
Hello again,, it has been a few weeks since my last post... Rider continued to have such territory issues and fighting with the girls, my father in law who had recently lost his dog asked to take him, as he will be the only one,, and that is now one spoiled rotton dog. He is king of that hill, and knows it,, my mother in law who does not allow dogs in the home, spends the day with him, and he keeps her great company,, though he naps through her shows. All is well though, and got a call from a friend that went to church , and that they had a what i would call a chocolate colored and tan male they could not keep, he is registered and they wanted to give it to my friend who has yorkies, but she call me and said I have you a baby, so long story short, we have a new baby named Oscar, he is almost a yr old. I don't have any pics on here as of yet, but I will! He spent the weekend with us around the horses and Mules and didn't even yap or anything, and the girls can at least bark some, He was an angel. My hubby has claimed him for his own. Oh WELL!
I'm glad Rider got his forever home and you still have access to him. I'm not surprised he has wormed his way in on the MIL. Clifford managed the same trick on my eldest aunt who is NOT a dog person. She still hates to have her hands licked tho.... good thing he lives with me.
Congrats on Baby Oscar.
You are so lucky to have a new "donated" dachshund! Rider sure is a good-looking guy. I'm TempDachs because I am no longer owned by a dachs, I just dogsit one about 4 times a year. I call Chili my temp dog, or loaner dog. Chili likes to throw all of her toys down the basement steps, then cry for someone to go and get them. It's her version of "fetch;" she makes the PEOPLE do the fetching!

It sounds like Lowrider has found true happiness with your parents. What a happily ever after for him!
I hope you post pics of Oscar. I think it's great that you rescued two babies this year.
I will, I meant to get some this past weekend.. We took him over to Ider, Alabama to Mule Days, my grand-dad has a team of mules that he puts in the parades. Well, he did wonderful, and sometimes its hard to take the girls, as they sometimes bark and carry on, but he did not, he did sooo well!!! I will get some pics on here though, and soon!
this is a pic i just took of Oscar,, a little dark, but a pic nonetheless
Wow...what a beautiful boy Oscar is...Thank you for the pics. I know Oscar is one lucky boy to have such a wonderful family as you....Congratulations Oscar on your new forever home!!! :apls:
