So they got through it easily and I immediately took them home when Duncan were done. Jessie was'nt really in need of a cleaning, but from all the wires she has been chewing on, I wanted Duncan to check her out anyway - she got some serious damage on her teeth, some are broken of and chipped and her canines are totally blunt and round. She's still on anti depressants though (I replaced the wire mesh with metal welding mesh long time ago) and she's much calmer now, my poor little girl. Heino stole hearts with his softie face though
Thanks for the update--I knew the kids would come through it okay! Poor little Jessie is on antidepressants? I guess I missed the whole bit about the meds and the wires, could you please fill me in? Poor little girl
Poor Jessie!!!
Awww poor kids! I didn't know they were going in for dentals. I'm glad they are ok and it's over. And I have no doubt Heino stole some hearts! Doll baby!!! :)
Yea, the whole thing of Jessie being on anti-depressants started last December when they started building close-by my house. They shoot dynamite during the day and thet upsets her extremely. She chew off the welding mesh that I put on the safety gate to keep them out of the house during daytime (and that wire is HARD - I even struggle to cut it with a side-cutter). I did'nt know it was THAT bad until February a good samaritan lady phoned me and said that she had picked up my dog in the street - about 3 km from my house. She broke out of the yeard (only the good Lord know how she managed that). I rushed to her and the lady told me Jessie was in quite a state when she got her - bewildered and panting exsessively. I realised that it must be the dynamite shootings and I wne to the vet for advice. After much discussion we decided on a light anti depressant for the time being. She seems to be fine now, not that much bothered with the shootings. As soon as they are finished, I'll stop the medication too, but I'm not risking loosing my girl.
Oh DD, sorry, I did'nt tell you but everything happend so quickly ... They went in on Thursday for checkups and I sommer made appointments for dentals to get it over and done with. Simson and Tommie is due later this month.
Simson also have a little lump on his right side just behind his shoulder. It's loose and does'nt get bigger though, it just appreared. Duncan said I just must keep an eye on it, so I said to him I don't like things that I have to watch, so he's gonna remove that as well. My poor little boy - he's been through so much, but he's such a tough cookie. I'm sure it's just a fatty limp, it's smallish, kinda "flat" and loose - moves with the skin.
Tommie had difficulty chewing hard cookies since I got him, and he just needs a check-up on his teefies too. Last time Duncan pulled out one back tooth and he'll need some more work now. Due to neglecting pre-owners.
