Along with my update on my hand, thought I would also post two pics of two tired dogs ...... nursing wears them out! I went in to see the surgeon today and the dressing on my hand was changed. I got rid of the big bulky cast/wrap! Yea! They rewrapped it and I am in a brace now. Very limted use -- can't lift anything heavier than a piece of paper or eating utensils....Sorry puppers....Dad is doing their lifting where we don't have ramps. I am able to drive using my left hand and my fingers on my right hand....Can't put the car in gear, though....so Dave does that for me. To be honest, my driving has been limited to only necessity driving and that was today to the doctor's office. Thank goodness for kids --- NOW they can be my Taxi Service! And, the neighbors have been great with taking us somewhere if we need to go. Dave is doing the cooking.....and the furkids are doing their velcro job very well! But, as I said, the nursing is wearing them out. Back to the Doctor next Monday....stitches out then, I hope! And, I'm getting down pat typing with my left hand along with everything else. Dee

Looie (He is so tired that he's resting his head on the arm of the sofa! His head didn't even make it to the cushion.)
Wow! Sure glad you are able to lift eating utensils - now, that would be a pain if you had to be fed. Your nurses sure look beat... Most around here only work 12-hour shifts. Poor guys never know when Mom will need action! I love the one of Looie with his head where it is! Sarge looks comfy under the blankie, too!
Sounds like things are progressing nicely ! Love the pics of the boys !
Love the pics of the boys.... Glad you are feeling better, but, I must of missed the original story..... :dontknow: What happened??? I am almost guessing from the sound of it, carpal tunnel??? If so, then I feel for ya.... I had my left hand done about 3-4 years ago, then 2 months after that, the Dr. decided it would be fun to do a knee surgery.... That was fun walking on crutches with a healing hand.... lol Sending rays and hugs your way.... EmmyLou sends puppy kisses to you and the boys......
Great news that your cast is off...... hope you are pain free!
PS. Looie... My what big feet you have.....
... the better to walk all over you , my dear
THanks for the update Dee!!! It sounds like you are coming along as expected, slowly but surely. Only a dedicated doxie Mom would find a way to get pics of the kids with a laid up hand LOL!!! LOVE them...the boys are so cute and they always make me smile, so obviously spoiled like every doxie should be!
Keep healing, sounds like it takes a whole committee to get the car to where it needs to go lol but you are blessed with family to help!!
Glad to hear you are making progress. And there's nothing like a tuckered out dachshund.
I glad you have such great nurses! :apls: Its great to hear that you are feeling better. We'll keep praying for ya.
It sounds like you're coming along well, Dee. That's great! Thanks for the update and thanks for the pictures. I have to say, you have the best looking nurses!!!
Glad to hear things are coming along. You have some very pooped puppies....I know they are taking very good care of their mommie :comfort: Thank you for the pictures.... for a speedy recovery.....it will feel a lot better once you get your stitches out.
The main thing is to do what the Dr orders.......... does the help include food and cleaning....................if so lap it up.
Roberta
Cute little puppers! Take it easy, and heal up! Enjoy the downtime.
I have no idea how I missed this post. Glad things are slightly improved Dee. Take care of yourself. I just LOVE the pictures.
