Hi, I have two doxies. Glenda whom is red and 6 years old and JD my 12 year old black and tan. JD has been fighting seizure's off and on the last 3 years and we are now at a point where he seems to have one every 2 weeks and it is of course killing me. I am keeping a journal of events leading up to them and I am thinking it might be chemicals in the pool? Or not? He takes 1 and a half pheno pills a day and this worries me that he still has them and of course being alittle overweight and no spring chicken probably doesnt help. I have been bracing myself for the possibility of losing him...he is a doll-he is my heart and we have been together for a long time and thru alot. He was predominantly my late husbands dog which of course makes it all the harder. I have enjoyed reading others and their battles with seizures, thoughts, ideas and well wishes in the message board and helps to know JD and I are not alone with these problems, Thanks.
Hi and Welcome!! We are owned by Penny and 4 1/2 old smooth red. There are so many wonderful people on this board and some of them have been dealing with seizures as well so I am sure you will get some good input!
Hello, welcome to Wiener Writings! Very glad you found us. I am Cheryl from Cinti, Ohio and am owned and loved by Zoe (4 1/2 yo smooth red) and her half brother Winston (3 yo smooth red) and an Australian Shepherd Mix named Sheba (7 yo). I have not dealt with seizures with my babies but as Kari mentioned, we do have some members who have been dealing with this issue. I am so sorry to hear that JD is having problems. I am sure too that you will receive some excellent input. Would love to see pictures of Glenda and JD. I look forward to talking to you.
Welcome Jamie! I'm Sandi, owned by Madison who is a black & tan mini smooth and full of attitude. I lost my sweet Dolly in March. She was my brindle red smoothie small standard. Come on aboard and tell us more about your lovebugs.
Welcome from Annapolis MD.
Hi Jamie! I'm owned by Berman (4 years black & tan smooth) and Lucy (2 years red smooth). We live in Broken Arrow, OK (a suburb of Tulsa). My Berman recently started having seizures - 4 since December, but he hasn't had one in over 2 months or so. It sounds like you're doing everything you can for your little guy. There are a few others on the board who have furbabies w/ more frequent seizures. You may want to check out the health concerns section.
