I just dropped the Zs off at the vet for their dentals today. In addition, Zora is having a skin tag removed from her chest. When the Zs heard me get out their leashes, they were so excited that they completely forgot that I didn't give them breakfast. They eagerly jumped into the truck for their go-fer-ride. Slowly, it began to dawn on them that they weren't going to the park today. When I swung the truck up onto Main Street, the reality hit them that they were going to the Vet and they, Zora in particular, began to flip out.
I should get a report around 1 - 2 today. In the meantime, if you guys could spare a ray or two, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Awww, poor Zeke and Zora - no breakfast! Rays on the way, naturally! No wonder my vet's office was so delighted with my Siglen-Angel! She loved going there, and would actually push on the door to get in, if I didn't open it quickly enough! They told me she was one of only 10 dogs who seemed to adore going to the vet. Those who met my "tweenie" social hostess can believe this easily - you know she never met a stranger who couldn't become a friend!
The Herd is going to the vet's next week for three days while I am out of town at an undislcosed location. (I need the break!!)
While they're in, three are getting a complete tune-up, oil and lube - that is teeth and nails.
Guinness will be getting his teeth done later at his own vet's. This office is very nice, and very reasonable for kenneling, but too expensive for Guinness' teeth. They quoted $400 - 700 for his mouth! YIKES!! So he's going to Dr. Spikloser at Reisterstown Vet Center after I get back.
So, rays to the Z's and back at us next week! :brushteeth:

The Zs dentals are complete. They are groggy, but otherwise okay. When they become fully conscious, the vet is going to go ahead and put them in the same crate until I can pick them up later today.
Zeke actually likes the vet and he tries to leap over the receptionist desk to get to the folks who poke and prod him. Zora is far more reserved and makes a beeline for the door.
Happy to hear all went well with the "other" ZZ's :wink:.
Zack could use it here but he just had the lump removed and got "fixed" this spring and they had trouble getting his temp back up so we are going to hold off for a while.
Zena's are just fine but they should be at 18 months. :grin:

Glad to hear all came out fine. They will be much happier in the same crate - cuddling helps when you are groggy :thumb: Sending rays that they heal quickly and maybe get some soft eggies for dinner tonight?
My Rudy LOVES going to the vet - he drags me in the door. Brandy barks for me to pick her up and then she hides under my arm.

Both are home and in good spirits. They were both fairly anxious to get back into the truck. It was cool, so I had my drivers side window down. When we turned into our neighborhood, Zeke picked up the familiar scent and began wagging his tail. (Zeke is an excellent navigator. On walks, I let him take the lead and he finds his way back home without any prompting from me). Zora just seemed content to be out of the vets office and lying on the seat. The Zs practically leaped out to go back in.
Zora has a couple of stitches from the removal of the skin tag that need to come out in a week, but other than that, both have sparkly clean teeth and are none the worse for the experience.
So glad everything went well! For being a hound Penny's sense of smell is terrible :doah:!! LOL - if it isn't right in front of her nose it takes her forever to find :rolleyes:!!
