This morning I applied for another senior weiner through DRNA. This little girl is Nugget and she is in NC.
I used this site as a reference :) Can't think of a better group of folks to judge the dachs-ability of a family!
Cross your paws boys & girls.
Congratulations! Be sure to keep us informed! How wonderful that you want to share your home with a Senior Girl! She will be one lucky little dachsie!
Bless you for taking in senior weiners. You will get an A-One rating from me!
Congratulations! I hope everything works out! :headbang:
Bless you !!! Can't wait for pictures !
Congrats! The seniors need homes too- I am so happy youare taking one in. :)
Lot's of luck and no one that is owned by a doxie is nuts! :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
Just took a look at Nugget. She is beautiful and really sounds like a sweetie-pie. Hope you hear something soon. I'm sure she will be coming home to you!!!
I just looked at Nugget too - she is adorable !!!
Have you heard anything from DRNA? I just saw this post and had to tell you how sweet Nugget looks! We lost out Nugget (red LH) a few years ago and have a wire (Ilsa) now, so between her name and her coat, she hit a place in my heart. I hope you get her. Let us know.
Yes, they have made contact; but, with the holidays things are going a little slow. That's OK as long as I know they are working on it.
Hi Dianne,
I seen the post on Weiner Writings on adopting Nugget! She's sooooooooooooooooooooooo adorable! I have adopted 4 from Dachshund Rescue since 2001.
I no longer have the first 2 I adopted but the 2 I still have are very special to me.One is named Blusky and is 8 years old and the other one is Manny a long haired 7 year old. Then last year my sister and brother in-law and nephew adopted one named Fritz Then in January of this year a friend from the rescue called and asked if we could foster a female and since we took her in we've adopted her.Her name is Annie and she's 10 years old.You wouldn't know that she's 10 by the way she chases a tennis ball when I throw it for her.The more I try to throw it easy the faster she runs to chase it. :thumb:
Good lick on the adoption. I have four rescue wieners - the oldest I got was Roscoe at age seven. Guinness is now 12, bu when I rescued him he was only five. He still acts like a pupper, all 6.6 pounds of him!
I'd love to adopt another senior, but right now I'm overwhelmed with relatives! Once they vacate the premesis, I'll be looking to give a senior home to some cute little girl!
Karen
We've been approved! Now, we just have to work through the details. We are on vacation until the 10th of August so the adoption will not take place until after our return. We didn't want the little girl to feel lost! Stay tuned!
Congratulations!!! :hello2:
...Still waiting...
Seems there are 2 families for Nugget. And, for all the seniors that need homes, none is the right fit for Patches...
