As some of you know we lost or little Zelda on Tuesday. It hurts so much. But fate seems to be intervieing. My Mom the ever optomist, who knows I cannot live without a doxie checked the Greater DC Dachshund Club to see if anyone had puppies. Oh alas, two gorgeous short haired red girls, my fav. Ready to go! But expensive, then today oh my God we got bonuses a work. Just the right size for a baby. So I have an appoinment in the am to view......hahahahaha view???? how about take home! a new girl. Am I nuts am I crazy or are the fates just being kind to me. I so can't sleep w/o small warm fuury mass against me the last 3 day have been the first in 21 yrs w/o a doxie. I think i AM HAVING WITHDRAWL. What do you all think?????????????????????
I think EmmyLou and Beatrice will have lots of fun sharing stories and tricks with a new little doxie girl! It really sounds like this is meant to be. The bonus today would have sealed the deal for me. When Kendall-angel went to the bridge, I swore we would wait a few weeks before getting another dog. I made it 4 days. It was the same way-once I found out about Schatzi and saw her, there was no way she wasn't coming home with me and the house was just too quiet with out a 4-legged creature in it.
Can't wait to see the pictures and now we will have this one and krs123's Bandit to hear all about. I love it when we have puppies on the board!
I think we call it the "Dogapult" around here, and it does seek us out. Our story is familiar:
Shortly after Max's passing, we found out that Yamisi was looking to place Zora and Zeke in a new home because her infant son had severe allergies. Margie and I really hadn't planned on returning to dog ownership so quickly, but we knew that this was meant to be.
Best of luck to you as the "circle of life" comes around once more.
Yep sounds like the famous dog-a-pult to me too! Once it's aimed at you there is no escape...I tried to dodge it 6 years and 6 days ago but couldn't (if I had it would have been the biggest mistake of my life). This definitely sounds like it's meant to be! Post pictures when you get them! ;)
Asolutely meant to be...and I would be willing to bet that your Zelda had something to do with it..... She knew how lonely you would be and she IS watching over you :thumb: Can't wait for pictures !
Congratulations on the new "Pupper"! I'm like everyone else can't wait to see pictures!
The Dogapult is aiming.....
Hip Hip Hooray for the dogapault! PICTURES please!
Yes, when that Dogapault aims, it aims.... And, when it fires, it fires.... I wasn't expecting a new one so soon after losing my little guy last August, and now I have a 9 month old terror!!!! My worst problem is the chewing.... I have tried everything, any ideas???? :dontknow: Glad to hear that the Dogapault is aiming for you and not me this time.... lol We have plenty of monsters around here...... I am sure that Teresa is right about EmmyLou and Beatrice.... I am sure they would love to share some tricks with a new little girl.... :thumb: Hope you get your little girl....
EmmyLou here: DID MY MOMMA CALL ME A TERROR???????? :cussing: I fink she meant "Pwincess"..... I can't wait to hab a new fwiend..... And, as for the chewing, does this face look guilty???? I didn't fink so.... Mommas can be stwange sometimes.... :idiot: I would lub to share some twicks wif your new girl, jus hab her get in touch wif Pwincess Emmy or Pwincess Bea.... We will teach her how ta be a "good" Pwincess..... :angel4: Lub~Pwincess Emmy

As a hooman, I can relate to your need. Guinness is my old man at 12, and Cooper was six last August when he got cancer. He was supposed to be around for many more years, and the two of us felt so lost when Cooper died. Two months later we adopted seven-year-old Roscoe, and Merlin and Beau, who were rescued strays with no known age. The vets thinik they're around four, although I think the good doctor leaky is much younger (remember the chewed up shoes, keyboard and library books!).
My plan is to keep my puppers happy and healthy and around for as many years as G-d lets me. And I'm hoping to continue to give some needy doxie a forever home, when the time comes for one of "The Herd" to mosey over the Bridge.
And piccys . . . WE WANT PICCYS!!!
