Kevin and I spent the three day weekend painting our living room, dining room, entry and hallway. It took all three days and I am so pooped! I suffer from arthritis and have pain even on my good days, so I had to pop ibuprofen like they were breath mints to get the job done, but we got it done. I have about three gallons of paint left over, but that's OK because I like the color and need to pain two bedrooms and both bathrooms, so it will get used and I won't need to buy paint for those rooms later. Since we had to take the blinds down to paint, I washed them in the bath tub. :bath: I REALLY hate mini blinds, but now that they are clean I don't hate these quite so much. :thumb:
Kevin is truly amazing. After we finished yesterday, he went outside and mowed the lawn, then after cleaning up he made us both omelets for dinner. :apls: I tried to keep busy cleaning up after the painting and putting the house back together, but I was so sore and tired that I was expending great effort and accomplishing little, so I will try to finish moving furniture back and hanging pics, etc, tonight after work.
The three days of paint fumes and dust from spackling and sanding got to Poldie. His emphysema hasn't bothered him much this summer, but he was coughing quite a bit over the weekend. I hope he is doing better when I get home. Poldie usually stays clear of us when we are painting and did so this time. Even so, he was the only dog to get paint on him.
Skeeter had the farts all weekend, and stuck close to us most of the time so we had to deal with that smell and paint fumes. And these weren't your average raunchy dog farts, but the what crawled up her you know what and died type :eeew: Also, she has a habit of wrapping herself up in her blankies, and a paint tarp evidently looks like a blankie to her, so at one point we saw her rolling herself up in a tarp!
Boone likes laying on plastic and layed down on the plastic sheeting I placed over furniture. Whenever we quit work for the day he let me know he was frustrated with the quality and quantity of lap time he logged this weekend, and would vecro himself to me.
I don't have the heart to tell Kevin that we forgot to paint the entry and linen closets. Would one of you let him know? While you are doing that, I'll wait over..............................................................here.
