Title: Ozzy's Sunday at the ballpark
Post by: MindyKay on May 21, 2007, 08:07:26 AM
Ozzy here:  Yesterday, Mom and Dad grabbed a sleeping bag and grocery bag full to stuff.  I only noticed that they had a baggie with treats in it.  We went goforaride, and when we got out, there were lots of people and other doggies going through these gates, into a big park with lots of places for people to sit, and lots of food smells.  The first doggie I saw was a beautiful smooth coated red doxie, so I had to meet him/her.  We went to an area where there was grass and Mom and Dad spread the sleeping bag out on the grass.  Then, Mom and I went into this big area called a Grandstand, and went down the stairs and stood behind what Mom called home base.  A lot of other doggies were there as well.  A nice lady led us out onto the field and we walked the bases.  We stood in a line along the third base line.  The announcer told everyone about us and how our $6 ticket price was donated to the Humane Society.  People were clapping and saying "Hi!"  Then we went back to the lawn area and watched a game called baseball.  I got to meet lots of doggies, some little and some huge, but all were very nice.  When the game ended Mom and Dad were cheering so I think the team they were cheering for won this baseball game.  We got back into the car and went goforaride again, but Mom says I fell asleep before we left the parking lot!

Mindy here:  Yesterday was the Cedar Rapids' Kernels "Bark in the Park" day.  We were able to take Ozzy to the game.  There was a parade before the game and Ozzy even got to meet some of the players from both sides.  We sat in the lawn area, of course.  The Kernels won, after a 3-game losing streak, so we like to think that Ozzy was a good luck charm.  He was definitely asleep before we left the parking lot, and slept on and off the rest of the evening.  It was a good time, and our ticket's prices were donated to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.  Bark in the Park is an annual event, and we will definitely go again!
