Dis is da Maddewoo again. Mommy and papa did it again. They made me meet and gweet. So tiring for a pupper....(pout). Dis time, I had to take a walkie....well, I DO like walkies...and I met Twooman da Golden Wetweever. Boy, is he BIG and I'm so yittle. Mommy was pleased dat Twooman was so gentle wiff li'l ol' me and ya know what I did? I 'nored him. Yep, dat's what I did. I sat right down to hide my hiney and flat turned my long snoot right up at him. Mommy sez I am snooty, whatever dat means. Yep, I didn't say one word to him, but I am glad he was nice to me. Den we walked home. Dat was ober a MILE dat I walked and boy, I was one pooped pup when we got home. I has been holding down papa's lap all affernoon and sweeping.
Have any of you puppers met a Golden Wetweever? They are BBBBIG, but kinda nice too.
Wuv, Maddewoo
This is Brekke: Maddie, I am glad you met a nice golden wetreever, but I do not like them since one stepped on my niece's tail at the dog park. I have never forgotten! Poor Mocha yelped, I showed him or her all my toofers, and he or she ran back to his hoomama and my mama had to tell his/her mama what happened! I still growl every time I see one! I will never forget. and I always look out for Mocha!
Hey Maddie, Schatzi has met a huge Golden named Copper. When we would go to their house and Schatzi was a puppy still she would run all over the house and Copper would chase her. She would then run UNDER the sofa. Copper could barely get his SNOUT under the sofa. He should just sit there and whine so pitifully until Schatzi would come out. He really loved to play.
Maybe if you walk a lot, then you get to have more treats since you are using up more energy. Worth a try!
lol you know what i think is amazing when you were writting about meeting and greeting i think most dachshund pulls the same stunts ignoring other dogs. my brother found a germen pointer last week at the side of the rode and has decided to take it his girlfriends grandparents live in a big farm and when they are working the pointer goes up there. she is lovely anyway she came to meet my lil man and he got so angry growling and all and then he hid for the rest of the day and wouldnt talk to anyone ha ha they are moody lil buggers to arent they
The turn your back and ignore routine seems to be more of a female dachshund attribute. I know years ago when I first had Rudy & Max, there was a b/t female that was a couple of years older than them, that would turn her back on the two of them as if to say "Since I can't see you, you don't exist". She eventually warmed up.
The Zs haven't come across a golden while in the Cohen house. Rudy & Max used to love to play "good cop, bad cop" with goldens. One would approach the golden up front, tail wagging and sniffing noses, while the other one would go around the backside and nip at them.
Of course, sometimes it would backfire. Once, at Lake Needwood, I was walking Rudy & Max along the lake shore. The two of them began to bark at a pair of retrievers, a golden and a yellow lab playing in the water. Attracted by the barking both came out. By this point, Max had scampered up an embankment to get out of the way to leave a hapless Rudy to deal with two very playful retrievers that batted him around like a toy and drenched him with water. Poor Rudy, I could just picture what he was saying "C'mon you wimpy retrievers and get out on dry land. Me and my brother Max will whip both of you. Right, Max?....Max.......MAX!!!!!".
Wow Maddie - glad you got to meet the big doggie and sure glad he was nice to you !!!! LOL - I laughed at you turning your head and ignoring him.....my Brandy does that quite often... to me !!! HAHAHAHAHA !!!!
Glad you got to sleep with dad all afternoon !
