:occasion18: yep, she's home and snoozing on the sofa with my husband. :hello2: He called me at work and told he got off early and wanted to pick her up. So I left early too, to be home with them. She has a bandage on her front paw and a bandage around her neck- she looks pathetic- and she is working the L@@K already. :rolleyes:
She was whining a lot at first , but now she is napping, so i hope she if feeling better. We have antibiotics and pain medicine to give her twice a day, plus she has a patch on her neck with a pain narcotic that stays on until friday. We also need to do warm compresses on her neck.
The vet hospital sent her home with a diploma certificate with a picture they took of her that says "Brave Dog Award" for making it through surgery. They also sent her home with a new bed. Doxies can always use more beds!
Gentle smooches to Cookie. You deserve that certificate. You're a BRAVE grrrrrrrrl. Rays to Cookie. Get well quick.
I'm so happy she came out all right. She definately earned the certificate and thenew bed!! What a strong little Cookie! Sending rays that her ouchies heal up quickly and aren't too painful. Poor thing.
Oh sweet Cookie Girl....you sure do deserve the award. I think that your mama deserves an award to...because she takes such good care of you. Soft belly rubs to you and hugs to your mama!

I'm so glad Cookie's home and recovering. What a nice idea to give out new beds! She certainly deserves the certificate and bed, and lots of loving. I'm sure she will milk the L@@K for all its worth.

That is the most wonderful news. You must be giddy! Too bad Cookie cant' understand LOL she'd go thru her recoup easier! Dang that first vet scaring you half to death and causing all this stress....I HATE it when they do that, even though I know sometimes it's unavoidable. All that matters is she's going to be OK!
She does look awfully pathetic poor little sweetheart. She is such a doll. That was super nice they sent her home with a nice new bed, I'm guessing you are keeping this vet!

How is Cookie doing??
Cookie is doing great. She loves getting canned food now (we have to do soft food for about 12-14 days wile her mouth heals). She gets even more excited about eating, if that is even possible. LOL
We took her bandages and morphine patch off yesterday- she seems much happier having all that off of her. SHe really seems like her old self, with the exception that she is sleeping more and has no desire to play. (which is good, because she is not allowed to play with any toys for 12-14 days while her mouth heals).
The only bad thing- that girl has got some gas now! :fart: And its loud! I never dogs could fart out loud- it sounds like a human fart. :funnyup: Must be the antibiotics or something.
Oh, and yes, she has been milking the L@@K... and yes, i fall for it every time. :rolleyes: She is getting a little spoiled lately.
LOL sounds like Cookie is livin' the life! Even perfumin' the house! LOL I have never heard a doxie fart that loud either. Lets hope that's one thing that "passes". :thumb:
LOL - Glad to hear that she is doing so well! After Penny's back surgery she had the worst gas EVER. I thought I was going to die - we figured it was all the medications she was on. It wasn't loud but it was stinky!!
