I had a bad case of the munchies, but my calorie allotment for the day was gone. So, I dove into the fridge and got a kosher dill pickle. Ozzy sat next to me with the L@@K, so I thought, OK Oz, have a piece of pickle.
HE ATE IT AND WANTED MORE!
Are kosher dills OK for our furbabies?
Isn't it funny how they pop up and love something that is completly out of the ordinary ?!?!?!?! I can't think of what might hurt him - but I wouldn't give him a lot.
Go Ozzy !
Doxies seem to fall into two categories;
Insufferably picky eaters;
They'll eat anything that isn't "nailed down or painted grey." (That's an old Navy phrase!)
Kosher pickles - yum, yum! L'Chaim!
Rabbi Leaky :pray:
Ya never know what's gonna tickle 'em pink. The other day, I was eating pineapple chunks and Maddie kept telling me she wanted a sample. I kept telling her that she wouldn't like it but doggone it, she snarfed down a piece and wanted MORE!
Miss Roo, by the way, has become a casual nibbler since Dolly's passing. She can go the whole day and when it's time for supper, there's still one or two kibbles in her bowl.
When Porky was going through his chewing EVERYTHING stage I put bitter apple spray on everything. Until of course, I looked over and saw him licking the electrical cord, fully loving the taste. :2funny: So much for that idea. :rolleyes: Then we tried really really hot jabenero sauce. Well, turns out Porky must be part hispanic, he loved that stuff too. :dontknow: What can I say, he has some weird tastes.
Porky Pie here: Wow, dill pickies! YUM YUM dose are tasty. Course I like just about anyfing dat has a taste. :funnyup:
I don't think they would be bad- maybe the sodium would be bad so only a tiny amount.
Cookie loves pineapple too, and bananas! :)
Right after reading this yesterday, I was eating some fruit salad. Schatzi was giving me the "I'm starving" look. I told her that I knew she didn't like apples, but she seemed to insist. I gave her a piece and she LOVED it. I swear she wouldn't touch it last time-spit it out to be exact. Oh well. Guess she likes them now.
As for bananas-forget it! In the mornings, Schatzi always gets the last little bit of milk that I have with my cereal. One day there was a small piece of banana in with it. She drank every bit of the milk, but left the banana-completely dry! Of course, next time she may decide she likes it, who knows!
I wouldn't feed an exclusive diet of them, but Loki loves saurkraut, :grin: so why not??
