Our dog show is here this weekend so tonight Mom entered me in a pre-dog-show match they held. She entered me in breed because since I am a pound puppy and not properly registered the AKC only lets me do obedience in the real shows. But most of the dogs entered at the match are also entered in the real show this weekend, it's a good practice for any dog needing some training for the ring.
So's I gots a bath today and trimmin' and stuff. Then at the show lots of people said how cute and fuzzy I was! Then the judge gave me a first place ribbon! I was the best dachshund in the show. Then I went back in for groups and I got a Group Three! Which means I got 3rd out of the hound breeds. I was smokin' hot tonight!
The judge asked Mom what my breeding was cuz she said I have such a great, happy attitude and Mom told her I was a pound puppy and we don't know where I came from, she said she would like to get my temperament in her own dogs and she said it brought a tear to her eye to see such a happy and good little pupper who wasn't bred for show.
So I had a weally weally fun evening and tomorrow we get to go back because Mom is taking picshures!

That's the problem with being the photographer....you never get pictures of your own kid LOL. We had a record breaking hot day today, 81 degrees unheard of this time of year (getting back to high 50's in the next few days) and although we were under cover it was pretty warm so we headed home right after her classes. It was so fun but I would have been just as happy about the class if she'd won or not, the real joy in it for me is seeing her have so much fun. When we came out of the ring I picked her up and told her how wonderful she was and she gets a little smile on her face and squints her eyes shut. Several people today came up to say how cute she is, she is always so happy and smiling, and so animated in the ring, we have so much fun together. :heart: Lots of cute doxies there!
Congratulations to Hallie proves pound puppers are great too.

We didn't get any pics at the show with the ribbons but here is one of her telling one of her favorite people, Candace, how good she just did. :thumb: Candace's Mom came and got her from me and took her over to see Candace who she loves...not many people I trust to carry Hallie around like that lol but Annette is one of them. :)
