Title: bit of shock at the Vets- they are OK
Post by: Roberta on April 04, 2007, 02:00:15 PM
Well they both went in together, other than jelly boy it was not to bad. They poor souls were not done till late afternoon, so when I ran on the way to collect them at t330pm they said Amy was just out and Oliver was going in. So we had ato wait till 615 to pick them up. The shock was when they said Amy had two out and so did OLiver. NIck hit the roof. when we saw Mark the other night he said hers just needed cleaning and he had only the one that was loose. Well they said after Amy was on the table the very back little tooth and th eone next to it were only beeing held in by a little of the gum, and they were common ones to loose as they don't get teh cleaning action of other teeth. Oliver it was the one we though and a small one next to it. Its thur morning and they are OK, just a bit of a rough throat hack once in a while. So we now have to brush teeth which we never have as they say its easier when they are started as pups. They say the rest of both their teeth were perfect and not needing mush cleaning, so I scratch my head, maybe its eating style.
My dream last night was about getting another puppy and you can guess the breed.

Oh gosh poor kids! Not what you were expecting! Good thing you had it done though.

Hallie says she thinks they should both get some nice soft ground hamburger and rice for several days.  :thumb: Followed by a cup of ice cream to wash it all down. She also says she was not paid in bully sticks to say that...

Sure a lot of doxie dreams going on in the board here lately! Wonder if the dogapult is aimed down under....

It is always scary and annoying when more has to be done to them than you expect.....they always seem to find more while they are under.  Glad your 2 are ok and hope their mouthies are not so sore.   I use the dental wipes - my just won't stand for the toothbrush.  I hate when you drop them off in the morning and they wait all day long to have the procedure done........let us know how they are doing !

Poor babies!  Their mouths must be sore.  Tooth care is hard.  No matter how we try to do everything right, they still get tartar, absesses, yuck!

I get mine at Petsmart - it is in the section with all the other dental stuff.  Not sure if you have Petsmart down under - LOL - but you can get on line.  I just googled Pet Dental Wipes and there is a lot of sites - here is a link for one:

You might just check at the pet store you go to.

Ollie was just milking it for all it was worth....... LOL !
