Title: Dentals down under
Post by: Roberta on April 02, 2007, 02:38:01 AM
Well I noticed Oliver did not was'nt finishing  his bone yesterday and I had a look and he has done a tooth, one half way up the jaw so he is going in to get it out plus a clean.
This poses a BIG problem as our two are like velcro to each other, so we got them to check Amy's and she is going in to for a  clean, sot they can share the same crate till they go in then after they wake up theywill put them back together. I may take the day off work as I don't like them in for a long time, although I know they are great people.

Sorry to hear about poor Oliver's tooth.  That must have hurt!

It's a good thing that they will be together.  These little ones can get so attached to each other.  Skeeter went in for a dental last month while Boone stayed home.  Boone is crated while we are away because he has separation anxiety and can be destructive.  He is calmer inthe crate, but will sometimes take some stuffing out of his crate pad.  I must replace the pad a couple times a year.  The day that Skeeter had her dental, he was completely alone and did about six months worth of damage to his pad in that one day!  You can bet that from now on I will do everything I can to make sure they are together!

Bet wishes to Oliver and Amy.

It's such a stressful day when they get their teeth done. I think taking them in for that and to get 'fixed' are the hardest vet trips because they are not sick and you know they're gonna get put under general anesthesia and be away from you for HOURS! Having said that, both your kids will be better off than not having their teeth cleaned. When will they get done?

Dis is Porky:  When I gots the BIG chop at 6 months old and a toof removed at da same time, my best fwiend Peter went in to get chopped too.   Da vet put my cwate right in front of Pete's so we could face each other.  Dat weally helped us not be scared.   Petey was feewing better den me after da surgy so he put his paws in my kennel to comfort me.  So, i's sure your babies will be just fine.  'Specially since dey get to share a cwate!   Don't worry dey will be okay.
