Title: Raw Food
Post by: papbouv on April 01, 2007, 09:41:42 PM
Since I have a Doberman also I belong to a Doberman forum also since i never had a Doberman before allot of people feed raw foods to their dogs say great things about how raw bones keep their dogs teeth super clean. I for one could not afford to feed raw heck the dogs would be eating better than us just do not see how you would know if you had all the right stuff that would be good for the dog? Then they talk of feeding raw chicken would think the dog would get sick all raw chicken has that bug on it can't think of how it is spelled. Those that feed raw say their dogs are super healthy? Getting to the point you just do not know which way to jump on feeding your Fur Kid.

Try the books by Ian Billinghurst, a vet from Australia:  "Give Your Dog a Bone" & The BARF (bones and raw food) Diet.  They will address your concerns about raw food in general.  A very fast read.  After the latest scare, so glad we have been "raw" for 2 years.  Our 14 year old Jack Russell is sooooooo much healthier.  We have to be careful of marrow bones w/ him, because of their richness and his age, but he gets a raw chicken neck every morning!  Good Luck!
