Cookie here- Mama promised me a fun girls morning. I was so excited I ran the whole way to da car. We went to da vet. :angry9: Not fun! They prodded my butt, gave me two shots and clipped my nails. Why would Mama do this to me?
Valerie here- Cookie had her first regular vet appt since her back surgery in Jan. She was overdue for a nail trim, anal glands, and 2 vaccines. So our vet checked her out, and looked at her back legs and says she has great reflexes back there. :thumb: And the best news- she weighed 12.7 pounds. (She was overweight at 15.7 when we had the surgery) :thumb: Our vet was very protective of how the vet techs trimmed her nails- they were told she just had surgery and to be very careful with her back, not let her wriggle and not to use a cradle ( I don't know what that is  ). She is also going to prescribe an anti-inflammatory drug to help with her wobbly back legs- she thinks that may help her as her legs get stiff from time to time and look a little wobbly still.
Next week, Cookie goes back for a blood and urine analysis for her to get the dental surgery she desperately needs (but got put on hold with all the expenses of the back surgery). She's had the bloodwork before (because we were planning to do her dental surgery in Jan)but we want to do it again to have the most updated information for the dentist.
Ahhh, she is an expensive dog this year! :confused2:
Forgot to mention the funniest part of the morning... when the vet assistant brought her out to me after her nail trim, she told me that Cookie was a little drama queen... she whined and yelped before they even touched her. She does this to us all the time, her famous "yipe, yipe, yipe" making everyone think we abuse her when we barely touch her. :idiot:
Ha, ha, she got busted in the act today, and the whole vet office got a good laugh out of it. One of the girls told me that she noticed that the black doxies seem to be bigger drama queen s than the others. :thinik: Wonder if that's true?

Back surgery check-up: A O.K. :thumb:
Anal glands: How indiscreet of your hooman to discuss this delicate issue in mixed company :badidea: :2much:
Nail trim: A good pedicure is worth it, if you parlay it into treats an cuddles. Move over, Helen Mirren! :bravo:

Ok, Beau, as soon as Mommy buys some Puperoni, I'll try to send it- its hard because I'll probably eat it while I am looking for an envelope. And I may eat the envelope too.....

No, no NO, Cokkie, honey, have your HOOMAN pack the Puperonis. I wouldn't want you to be tempted to ruin your svelte figure with all those calories.
Love, Dr. B.L. :hkiss:
