Title: Two dogs' view on one week with Dad
Post by: David C. on March 16, 2007, 08:01:28 PM
I was sick this week with a really nasty flu bug.   It hit me harder than anything I've had in almost 20 years.   I was home most of the week, so here are Zora and Zeke's take on it.

Zora here:  I had a GREAT week.  I mean, it's not good when Dad is sick, but we got to spend some real quality time together.   Dad let me snuggle with him on the BIG BED, I stayed on top of him when he was out on the couch, and since Mom and Jessica were afraid to come near him because he was contagious, so it was up to me to nurse him back to health.

Zeke here:  I had a TERRIBLE week.   I always like to play with Dad, but he didn't want to play with me.   When I tried to join him on the big bed, I started rolling around and he told me to quiet down.  I didn't like that, so I jumped off the bed and went back to my crate.   Then, when Dad was lying on the couch, I wanted to play.  Dad "shhh'd".  I didn't like that, so I began to bark at him to let me play.   Dad only "shhh'd" me some more.   Then when I would stay with Dad, he would make a toot and I'd have to run away.

Dad here again:   Poor Zeke has an unnatural fear of farts.   Even my stomach grumbling has made him jump.  Zeke seemed to be a put out this week.  Zora stuck to me like a cheap suit, and now even back on my feet, she has definitely attached herself to me.   She's my other little girl, and I don't feel guilty about spoiling her!

LOL!!!  What a week!  There is a nasty flu going around, people up here have been getting it right and left.  So far I've been spared.  I'm glad you're feeling good enough to get on the board and tell us the "toot" story.  Thats pretty funny that Zeke freaks out when it happens.  A friend of mine has an 18 month old daughter who freaks out if she toots in her little bath tub, the bubbles scare her.

Glad you are feeling better.
SO funny that the Z's have such opposite personalities.

LOL!  Sorry to laff, but being scared of dad's fart IS funny. :2funny:  Glad you're feelin' better, though.  Give those sweet puppers a snuggle for me.  How's Jessica doing?

MY only problam is when FOUR snuggle bugs line up against me and every time I roll a little, they slide over, until I am teetering on the edge of the queen sized bed and the Herd is sprawled out on the whole thing!  :sleepy1: :sleepy2: :sleepy3: :sleepy4:

THEN I have to go to the bathroom and they have my legs pinned under the covers! :pottytrain5:

No you have it all wrong the tittering on the side of the bed is so you will take deep slow breaths exercise your lungs, that also goes for you trying to get your legs back exercise is suppose to help you get well faster or so they say.The Doxie's watch TV they hear it on the TV so they follow thru making sure they try all the licking & snuggling is to break your fever, the exercise part is so you will not get too weak so they can have their food served in a timely fashion.

At least Zora had a great time, but I am sorry for you and Zeke.  Hope you're feeling better by now, and also hope that Margie and Jessica avoided catching it.  And, poor, poor Zeke, no play time and scary tummy rumbles to boot!  LOL, we'll need to remember to mind our manners around Zeke!

I'm glad you're feeling better, David.  Your toot story made me laugh out loud!  That is too funny that Zeke is afraid of those noises.  I hope that Margie and Jessica miss the bug.
