I have a flea problem in my backyard. I live in Florida (that is why it is early) does anyone have any tips for the backyard? I have heard that dawn dishwashing liquid diluted works well but I have never tried it. Any other suggestions other than flea poison?
I put out the "Over and Out" ant product in the yard, once each season. Its active ingredient is fipronil, which is the same active ingredient in Frontline and TopSpot (which I do not use). Of course it is a flea poison (as well as fire ant poison), but I figure it is better than putting it directly on the dogs once each month. Anyway it works well for us and I only use it once a year.
I have also heard of using borax powder, or diatomaceous earth - which I suppose would be a more natural remedy - although it has to be reapplied after rain or lawn watering.

A safe product is the Diatomaceous Earth Fleas cannot live it dries them out no posion nothing to hurt the Fur Kids.

Isin't Florida FUN????? I have the same issue with my yard. I use the diatomaceous earth and it works quite well. I also make sure that the furkids are as protected as possible from them Buelah is the one who seems to really attract the fleas...I assume it is her long hair.
