Title: The "Animal" has arrived!
Post by: Teresa on March 07, 2007, 07:30:02 PM
The Dyson Animal showed up yesterday and so far I am quite impressed. We used it in our room last night, which is definitely the one with the most dust/fur in it. It got up quite a bit then. This morning Randy ran it again and it picked up even more than last night. Once again he emptied the bin and then later today ran it a third time. It was still picking up stuff, but this time it was more dust/dander than fur. What is amazing is how different the carpet is starting to look. I just can't believe how much the other vacuum was leaving behind.
Of course, I'm also thrilled that Randy will actually empty this canister!!! He wouldn't empty the one in the Hoover WindTunnel because it had to be taken outside due to all the dust that would go flying out of it. No such problem with the Dyson since it empties from the bottom of the canister.
Anyway, that's my 24hr review! I'll let you know what I think again in a few days.

I have to add this-Even though it is much much quieter than the other vacuum, both dogs aren't too sure of it. Schatzi seemed traumatized for the longest after we used it last night! Maybe it's the Animal name?????

I have the dyson animal too and it amazed me especially when i first got it and it picked up so much dirt and hair in just a few feet from starting to use it. I use it alot. It sure helps me to keep my carpets clean and brighter.

LOL, Teresa, I think they should include that in their adds..."Wives be advised! This vacuum cleaner can become addictive to your husbands!" Since we got ours, about a month ago, Ron's used it more than I have!

(http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/chores009.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org)     I am beginning to wish for my old vacuum to give up so that I can get one of the Dysons (http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/chores009.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org)  Even if I would have to use it all by myself.
Delia .... maybe you should summit your advertising suggestion to the company.  (http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/chores009.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org)

Yesterday morning I had stopped by the house for just a minute to pick up something I had left there while Meg was at a doctor's appt. When I came in, Randy called out for me to come upstairs before I left. That was when he wanted to show me how much the vacuum had gotten up on the second time over the room. My plan is to just do a room or two at a time until it's as dust/fur free as possible in hopes of keeping Randy entertained with the vacuum for quite awhile!

I have one too.  I really love it!  I have severe allergies so this is the ONLY vacuum my allergist will even consder giving okay for me to use.   My husband still has to do the emptying, but I least I can vacuum myself now!  Porky seems terrified ofthe vacuum too.

Did you get the DC07, DC14, or DC15 Animal?  What are the differences between them?

I got the DC14 Animal. The DC 15 Animal has the Ball which is supposed to make it easier to manuever, however, many reviews said the ball itself was a problem. From what I could tell, the DC07 and the DC14 difference was in the power and maybe some of the attachments. I didn't look at the 07 at all. I was trying to decide between the DC14 and DC17. The DC17 is motor driven and feels self-propelled. It also has triple-cyclonic action. Since I was able to get such a great deal on a refurbished DC14 at Amazon, I decided to go with that model. In one of my earlier post, I gave a link where you can get 20% off at Linens N Things online on the Dyson. If you get their ads in your paper, you can also use the 20% coupon that comes in them. The new Dyson's have a 5 year warranty which is unheard of anymore.
