I was alarmed to see "the king is in the hospital" and thought this was a NEW event, instead is was at the top of the page because someone replied to it today. can we add the date of the ORIGINAL post to avoid confusion? We all like to keep track of illnesses and serious events, and it's hard to sort them out when old posts get bumped to the top because someone replied to them. Oy.
Posts get bumped to the top of the list when new replies are added because otherwise, people may never know there was a new reply to a thread they are interested in.
Sorry for the confusion. I don't know if Drew will be able to add information that also shows the threads start date or not.....
Each post has a date and time stamp on it just below the post title, you can just look there to see when the post was made. :thumb:
But you have to OPEN the post to read that.
HA !!!! I was asking Krista about this today. What I would like to have is that the posts stay in the same order as posted and don't jump to the top when a reply is added. Not sure if that can be personalized within your own profile - I didn't see it anywhere. I sent Drew a PM. The date on the master screen would help. I am afraid that I am missing some new ones because they jump all over the board. Hopefully he will have an answer !
You won't miss any new topics or posts since the system does not mark them as read by you until you have actually viewed the topic. So you could view teh "General Writings" area and read the first 3 of 5 new topics and the next time you opened the "General Writings" area the other two would still be listed as new. :thumb:
Yes, I can add the date the thread was started, but eventually things get crowded horizontally and we can only display so much before things start bleeding onto lines below and throwing of the layout. I'll see what I can do to allow this without impacting the layout. :thumb:
